Kathleen Ann (Herzog) Anderson, 92, of Miles City passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City, MT. She finally got her wish to “just fly away”.
Kathleen was the third of four children born to Carl and Kathryn (Schmitt) Herzog, on November 27, 1925. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Custer County High School in 1943. She left for Seattle, WA, to take a job at Fort Lawton as a payroll clerk for the Army. It was there in the boardinghouse where she was staying she met her future husband, John Anderson. They raised two children, Linda Marie and John Robert. After moving to the Tacoma area she worked at various jobs as a bookkeeper. When John retired they enjoyed a trip to Hawaii and several road trips around the U.S. After her husband died, she moved to Billings to help her brother take care of their mother. Then after she went through heart surgery and ovarian cancer, she moved to Miles City to be closer to her daughter. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Jenny of Terry, a daughter-in-law Deb Best of Tacoma, a sister Juanita in Seattle and a brother Jim of Billings. She was also survived by seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her son John Robert, her parents and one brother Carl Herzog Jr.
Services will be at a later date in Washington.

Linda and family of Kathleen,
I so very sorry to hear of Kathleen passing. She is a very dear an special little lady, which I’m so happy to get the pleasure to call one of my dearest friend after many years coming to Curves.
She enjoyed coming and stay after her workout, have coffee with the other Curve ladies and loved keeping me company by playing a few Scrabble games each day. We had long talks and enjoyed each others company.
Kathleen was the like a adopted Mom/Greandma to me and she had lots of good advice with all her many years of knowledge. She was so supportive to me when I had to make the decision to close my business down.
I loved her so much and will miss my dear friend.
I will always have her in my heart and all the good talks and advice on life she shared with me will be with me for ever.
Love you my dear friend Katheen till we meet again to play Scrabble, have coffee and long visit.
Rset in peace.

Linda and family,
I didn’t know Kathleen until I moved to Eagles Manor, but she was a great favorite once I was there. She always had a sweet smile and a ready greeting. She loved interacting with the various pets at the Manor, including my own little Katie. I always smile when I think of her saying, “There’s the little doogy”, and she always had treats available. May all your wonderful memories comfort you. She will be missed by many.

Linda, I have just learned of the loss of your dear Mother. I will never forget the kindness that she and your Father gave me on my visit to the US all those years ago.
They are now together in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
Blessings to all your family.

Linda, just thinking of your mother as I am doing Christmas cards and I contacted her just after my mom, Hilda Tonder, died in 2010. So loved visiting with your family at your house in Tacoma and playing pool with you and your brother. Your parents were always so welcoming to us Tonder kids. So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. A bit late with this condolence. Hope you are doing well. Roberta Highflll
