Kathleen Marie Corbin passed away at her home with her family by her side on September 27, 2020, after a 3 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on July 26, 1949, in Beach ND to Kenneth and Mary Ley of Wibaux MT. She grew up on the family farm south of Wibaux and worked hard doing the chores at a young age after losing her mother to cancer.
Kathleen married Leo Fischer on February 13, 1968. Together they had 2 daughters. Juanita was born June 19, 1972, in Choteau MT and Jodi was born July 30, 1975, in Billings MT. They later divorced in November 1981.
In 1989, she met a middle aged batchelor named David Corbin. After 2 years of courtship, they married August 3, 1991, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City MT. They lived in Fallon, Scobey and then made their home in Miles City on Dec 13, 1999. They enjoyed camping and traveling to the NFR, Branson MO and Nashville TN.
Kathleen worked most of her life working in Medical Records for Holy Rosary Hospital, Garberson Clinic and retired from Billings Clinic. She loved planting her flowers in the spring and sitting outside watching her chickens run around the yard as well as spending time with her girls and grandchildren.
Kathleen had strength and willpower to the end. She was a very soft-spoken and compassionate lady. Even through her ordeal with cancer, she seldom complained about what she was going through and kept a smile on her face. Kathleen never a missed an NFL game. She kept track of all the teams and scores in her little book by her chair and was able to watch her Kansas City Chiefs win the 2020 Super Bowl.
Kathleen is survived by her husband David Corbin of Miles City MT, a son Jim Ullom (Brandy and 2 daughters Cortney and Skylar) of Wallingford CT, daughters Juanita Robertson and Jodi Wootan (Casey) of Miles City, a sister Teresa Bruha (Doug) of Baker MT, brothers Johnny Ley of Worden MT, Marvin Ley (Pam) of Glendive MT, Jerry Ley of Denver CO, 2 grandchildren Tyler Wootan (Madahi) and Abigail Wootan of Miles City, 2 great grandchildren Jocelyn and Taos Wootan and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Kathleen especially want to thank Holy Rosary Hospice and Billings Clinic GYN/Oncology team for her care and treatment.

Kathleen was not only my first cousin, but my sister as she lived with us after her Mother passed. She will always be remembered for her sparkly eyes, everlasting smile and sweet temperment. I thoroughly enjoyed her visit with us several years ago as well as the times we got together at Aunt Vicky’s. She is singing with the angels and her family who joined that choir before her!!
The Harry & Bernadine Kunda family send our condolences and sympathies from Kalispell, Arlee, Sacramento and Lynnwood,Washington: Angie, Michael, Missy, Gena and all

I worked with Kathy for years at Garberson Clinic and HRH. She was so pleasant to work with and she had an incredible memory. I often remember how, if any of us wanted a patient chart, she knew the number w/o looking it up!! She was a gentle consistent person who quietly went about her life, even when it was pretty difficult at times. I hope you can be encouraged by what a fine person she was during this devastating loss.
Charlene Regan says
To Kathleen’s loving family. She has been a long time friend and coworker, and I will miss her. Kathleen was a kind and gentle lady. She was meticulous in her work. I have been away from Miles City much of the last few years so have not been able to see her and visit very often, but have enjoyed the time we have spent together. She had a deep love for you all. Dave, thank you for your loving support and care for Kathleen. Juanita and Jodi, she loved you and her grandchildren and also the new little great grandchildren. She will remain in my heart.

Dave, Juanita, and Jodi. – As stated by others above, I also got to enjoy working with Kathy. She loved her job and was defiantly good at it. She did have a memory sharp as a tack! Our friendship even extended a few times from work to the Bison Bar on a few Friday’s nights. I can still hear her laugh.❤️ She use to talk about you girls and Dave all the time. I think I was more excited to meet Juanita for the first time as I felt like I knew her forever because her mom talked about her so much. Your a lucky family to have had such a sweet gem, as I was to have her as a friend. Love you all and many prayers in this time of sadness.❤️🙏

CONSTANCE ("CONNIE") LEY CARROLL says
My first thoughts when I saw Kathleen’s picture & her smile, were that I would recognize her anywhere, because to me, she looks like her mother, my Aunt Mary Ley before Aunt Mary died of cancer & my memories of our childhood. I’m Kathleen’s first cousin, “Connie” Ley Carroll, daughter of Tom & Lucille Ley. In the year of 1949, we had 6 cousins all born on both sides of the family; my twin brothers, Shane and Lauren Ley, & Kathleen. Last time I saw Kathleen was at our Ley Reunion in Wibaux, Montana 35+ years ago. I’m so glad she found a new love and married again, had her husband, her children and grandchildren, & friends to support her during her lifetime. Just heard about her fight with cancer a short while ago & she has been my prayers since. Our Lord Jesus Christ has her in His arms now and I know she is still smiling! May God’s Blessings be unto you , her family, her siblings & their families, and her friends. With love, Cousin “Connie”
