Kathleen Edwards

Visitation: Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan.

Funeral Service: Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan.

Interment: Pioneer Cemetery

Kathleen Billy Edwards, age 83, of Jordan passed away on Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Garfield County Nursing Home in Jordan.

Billy was born at Paris near Jordan, Montana on the DeBock ranch east of Flowing Wells, on July 26, 1924, the daughter of Jim and Olive (Liebole)DeBock. She was raised on the family homestead. She attended country schools and graduated from Garfield County High School. After graduating, she began working at the courthouse in Jordan at the LPA office during the war for a short time before teaching at various country schools in Garfield County. Billy and Lawrence Hoolie Edwards were married on January 1, 1945 in Glendive, Montana and they lived on the family ranch on Haxby Point. Hoolie passed away in 2006 and shortly after, Billy moved to the Garfield County Nursing Home where she has resided ever since.

Billy enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles and was well known for playing accordion and piano at dances with Hoolie on the fiddle. She also enjoyed boating at Fort Peck Lake.

Billy is survived by special family, Jay and Gayle Twitchell and their family, Travis, Troy and Toni, special friends, Duncan, Scotty and Donald McDonald, Karla and Gene Christensen, brother, Jim DeBock and his wife Evie of Cody, WY, sister Joan Frady of Jordan, MT, nieces: Patricia Perkins, Deanna Murnion, Nina Bundy, Terry Stratton, Viny Lufborough, Velma Rice, Della Jane Jarrett, DeEtta Edwards and Marci Scarlett, nephews: John Frady, Kelly, David and Scott DeBock. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hoolie in 2006 and a sister Ilene Thomas.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
