Kathleen (Olander) Ronning, age 92, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Miles City.
Kathleen Marie (Olander) Ronning was born March 23, 1926 at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, Montana to Emil and Marie Olander. She went to Moon Creek School, a little country school, grades one through six. Then grades seven through twelve in Miles City, graduating from Custer County High School. After Kathleen graduated from high school, she decided to go back east to New Jersey where her Dad’s sister Amy and her uncle Harold lived and got a job at the RCA. She worked for a few years before returning to Miles City where she married Orville Ronning, whom she had met in high school and they married June 10, 1945. In this union they had three children: Jerry, Lynn and Jill.
Kathleen is survived by her son Jerry (Darla) Ronning, Lynn (Ronning) Schaefer and Jill Ronning (Dale) Frederick; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Orville; her parents Emil and Marie; her sister Janet; and her sisters and brother in laws: Warren and his wife, Gladys and her husband, Ines and her husband, Dorothy and her husband, a granddaughter Vanessa and a great granddaughter Angel.
A joint graveside service for Kathleen and Orville will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. The last time I visited Katie was in Miles City at the nursing home. She was so ready to go see Orville and you can bet the Moon Creek reunion in Heaven is filled with laughing, hugs and old memories. May she rest in peace and peace be with every member of her family and friend circle.

I took care of both Orville and Kate. Kate and I became super close over the past few years, she is one tough gal. My heart hurts to learn of her passing but I’m thankful she isnt in pain anymore. My thoughts and prayer are with her family.
