Kathryn Ann Smith, age 74, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at her home in Miles City.
Kathryn was born on May 21, 1943 to M.J. (Tuffy) Reardon and Loretta Geraldine Reardon in Gillette, Wyoming. She married Wayne G. Smith on August 6, 1966 in Gillette. They lived their life in Miles City where they raised two children: Kristine (Darwin Thrams) of Miles City & Cynthia Smith of Rapid City S.D. She was preceded in death by her mother & father M.J. (Tuffy) & Geraldine Reardon. Kathryn worked at Super 8 motel for over 35 years, right up to the time she got sick. Kathryn’s religion was Catholic and she raised her children Catholic. She is survived by her husband Wayne, and daughters Kristine (Darwin) Thrams of Miles City, MT and Cynthia Smith of Rapid City S.D; a grandson Brandon Thrams; a sister Phyllis (Homer) Phillips of Rapid City SD; a brother-in-law Matthew (Linda Hodgson) Smith; a sister-in-law Bonnie Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathryn enjoyed all the trips she took with Wayne, her girls & grandson Brandon. They visited places like Disneyland, the San Diego zoo, Knotts Berry Farm, Sea World, Epcot Center, train rides Hood River R.R., Durango and Silverton R.R. and trips to Mesa Verdi., and Reno Nev. They drove highway 101 along the Pacific coast and saw the giant red woods in California. They visited Glacier Park, Yellowstone Park many times, and Black Hills, SD a lot of times. She also enjoyed sewing, making matching outfits for the girls when they were younger and a wedding dress for her daughter.
She was the best wife & mother anybody could ask for. She never complained about anything and always looked at the bright side of everything. She basically devoted her whole life to her family. She will be missed, and our hearts are broken.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.
