Graveside Services: 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming

Graveside Services for Kenneth Anderson will be at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming with Chaplain Mariah Case of the Pioneer Manor Chapel officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #42. Visitation will be from 10:00 -11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette.

Kenneth Anderson, age 90, died on Friday, November 28, 2003, at the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Gillette, Wyoming of natural causes.

Kenneth Woodrow Anderson was born on April 16, 1913, to Elmer and Gertie (Springen) Anderson in Spirit Lake, Idaho. As a very young child, he moved with his family to a homestead near Wright, Wyoming. When he was eight years old, he moved to Fullerton, Nebraska where he stayed until his graduation from Fullerton High School in 1932. After graduation, Kenneth enlisted in the Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Saratoga for nine years. After his honorable discharge in 1945, he worked as an ironworker and built power plants south of Gillette until his retirement in 1975. Kenneth loved working on his lawn and in his garden. He enjoyed the time he spent taking care of his two aunts, Phyllis Springen and Sylvia Revland, both longtime residents of Gillette. He was a member of the American Legion Post #42 and a member of the Ironworkers union.

Kenneth is survived by one sister, Avis Forbes of Grand Island, Nebraska; four nephews: Doug Kruse of Grand Island, Nebraska; Gary Kruse of Ottumwa, Iowa; Jim Forbes of Garland, Texas; and Larry Gaddis of Washington state; two nieces: Sandy Hines of Lewellen, Nebraska; and Roxanne Hawks of Grand Island, Nebraska and numerous great nephews and great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lucile Gaddis.

A memorial has been established to benefit the American Legion Post # 42. Should family and friends desire, donations may be sent in care of the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home at 210 W. 5th St., Gillette, Wyoming 82716. Condolences may be sent to the family via the internet at www.stevensonandsons.com.
