Kenneth Lauridsen was born to Chris Lauridsen and Christina (Erickson) Lauridsen in Veblin, SD on November 24, 1915. He died on October 5, 2003 at Northeast Montana Health Services in Poplar.
In 1917, his family homesteaded on the family farm north of Brockton, where he spent his entire life. He attended school in the North Brockton area at the Buchanan School and Brockton High School. He married Molly Damm on October 20, 1937. Six children were born into this union.
Kenneth was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church. He served as president of the church for many years. He was also a board member for the Co-op store of Poplar, and the Farmers Union station for several years. He served as a board member of the Nemont Telephone Co-op for 40 years, and was an active member until his death.
He is survived by Molly, his wife of 66 years, and six children, Betty (George) Martin, St. Louis, MO, Mae Alford, Pasadena, TX, Carol (Jim) Elliott, Kennewick, WA, Alma (Wayne) Lokken, Bonita Springs, FL, Clyde (Shirley) Lauridsen, Anacortes, WA, and Arlie (Judy) Lauridsen of the family farm. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Esther Rodewald, Alice Schwarzrock Bummer, and Ilein Ulrich, and one grandson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7 from 5 to 7 pm at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Poplar. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 8 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in North Brockton with Pastor Chancey Charles officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
