Kenneth V. Youngquist, age 94, of Circle and recently Bozeman, Montana, passed away on Sunday, June 16th, 2024, due to natural causes.
Kenny was born July 13, 1929, to Lawrence and Adele Youngquist in Circle, MT. He grew up in Circle, graduating in 1947 from Circle High School as valedictorian of his class. His love for flying came at an early age leading him to get his private pilot’s license when he was only 16 years old. In 1950 he joined the United States Air Force where he learned electronics as he served for 3 years until getting a medical discharge in 1953. In the late 50s he started a radio and television service business that he ran for the next several decades. In the 1960s he was one of the first people to work on bringing over the air television signals into McCone County and surrounding areas that did not have access to them previously.
In December of 1967, Kenny married Norma Olson. In June of 1971 they were blessed with a son, David. Over the following years both remained active in the Circle community, leading to Kenny receiving an “Outstanding Citizen” award at a Circle Chamber Banquet. Kenny and his family were also active members of the Circle Evangelical church for many years. In their retirement years when Norma’s health began to fail, he was a faithful caregiver and servant to her until her passing in 2015.
Kenny is survived by his son David of Bozeman, MT, sister Marilyn Mittelstaedt of Gilmer, TX, brother Rodney Youngquist of Canby, OR, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Adele Youngquist, wife Norma, and a sister Alice Pehl.

Sorry to hear of your dad”s passing, David. Always enjoyed visiting with Ken and when he would send updates on the state of the church and political world! Good coffee times when we were in business back in the day. A great Christian military patriot American and friend. God’s best to you in this time grief.

Dear David,
Your dad was a good friend of our family, and then we as a family had lot of special memories with you Dad and Mom, as well as you. May the special memory of their love for you be present at this time of grief and the love of Jesus Christ be a great comfort. In Christ, Sheila Schwartz

Kenny, always such a precious friend!. Such wisdom and kindness. He will be so missed. I treasure our many conversations and prayer during difficult times. So happy he had you David as an exceptional son and truly his best friend. Will be out of state this weekend but not far away in prayer!!

Thinking of you, David, and remembering your father and the many hours he contributed to the Circle area in maintaining the electrical and television system for everyone. He kept everything going! He made many trips to the divide towers in all kinds of weather. He was an important asset to our community.
