Kent Harrison Sandefer, age 58, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010, in Tucson, Arizona.
Kent is survived by his wife, Cheryl Elliott Sandefer; his parents, Kenneth and Mary Sandefer; sister, Kathy Walker; and his sons, Robert Michael Sandefer and Steven James Sandefer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Orin and Lenora Harrison and Wesley and Lula Sandefer.
Kent, born in Miles City on November 2, 1952, was the sole son of Kenneth and Mary Sandefer. He attended Kircher Elementary School and Custer County District High School. On September 9, 1972, Cheryl Elliott and he married. From Montana State University he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics then a Master's degree in Statistics. At Miles Community College in Miles City; Mohave Community College in Lake Havasu City, Arizona; and then Tucson, Arizona, he shared his knowledge and passion for mathematics, computers, and chemistry with hundreds of students. In between classes, he spent time with family, drove his motorcycle, and went hiking.
The funeral service, at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home, will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 16, 2010. Condolences may be sent to the family via www.stevensonandsons.com. Those desiring may make memorials to any charity of their choice.
