On Saturday, July 30th 2016, Kevin Dwight McLain passed away at Billings Clinic in Billings, MT as a result of complications with a severe stroke. Kevin was 63 years old.
Kevin was born in Mohall, ND on February 4th, 1953 to Lauren Lyle McLain and Gladys Luella McLain.
After completing school in Mohall, ND, Kevin went on throughout the years traveling across the states owning multiple companies, such as a limousine service, the Starlight NightClub, Liq-Trol and more settling down at times until 1991 when he became a father to Joshua Rath-McLain born May 1992 in Miles City, MT.
He started his beloved business, Rainbow Painting, and continued to run Rainbow Painting right up to the end.
In 2001 he became a father again to Lauren Wyatt McLain and two years later in 2003 Reba Ann McLain.
His pride and joy in life, everything he did, was for his 3 children.
Kevin enjoyed the family pets throughout his years in Miles City. His beloved dog Jesse, Kitty Hitch-a-Ride “Hitchy”, the inseparable pair Chewy and Sidney and his newest addition Chip.
Kevin also enjoyed his best pet friends away from home, horses Trey Spot, “Mama” Diamond and Fancy. In his last years he became fond of going fishing with his good friend JD, taking family vacations and road trips with Lauren and Reba, and going out on the town for his favorite meal of fish and fries at the Cellar Casino with Josh.
Kevin was a lifelong collector of agates as family and friends have seen in his front yard, along with his extraordinary collection scattered throughout his home.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Lauren Lyle McLain.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Gladys Luella McLain, Brother Steven McLain, Sisters Karen McLain and Bonnie Moon and his three children Joshua Rath, Lauren McLain and Reba McLain.
As per Kevin’s love of all animals, donations can be made to the ASPCA in his name.

Josh and Reba…..know your Dad always loved you both more than life and that you both were always first in his life. I just find it so hard to believe that he’s gone. But know that my prayers and thoughts, as are many other folks, are for you and your family during this difficult and unconceivable time of your young lives. May your good memories and times with your Dad always be with you now; keeping you all close to him, even though he’s gone….he will always be there with you in spirit; always looking out for you.
