Kevin Henry Seitz passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at his home in Culbertson, MT. He was born in Billings, MT, on October 14, 1958, to Henry Herman and Arlys Jean Seitz.
Kevin grew up in Broadview, MT, helping with the family farm which is where his love for farming and agriculture started. He attended Northern Montana College in Havre, MT, where he received a Farm and Ranch Management degree as well as a Business Administration degree. It is also where he met the love of his life, Rhonda Anderson (Seitz). Kevin and Rhonda started their family in Billings. After moving around for a few years, they settled in Nezperce, ID, where all four children grew up and graduated from Nezperce High School. Kevin’s job as a Soil Conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Services then took him to Williston, ND, which allowed him to pursue his passion at a higher level. He and his wife resided in Culbertson, MT, where he lived full time until he passed on.
He was a road warrior. He spent many years driving and following his four children around to various sporting activities. There were countless hours spent in the gym coaching and practicing with his children. He never missed one of their games if he could help it. He coached many of his children’s basketball teams, making an impact not only on his own children for his love of the sport, but also made a difference to so many of his children’s friends. He continued to be a mentor to the youth of his community. He led by example and was a role model to his children. He taught them how to work hard, treat people with respect, and most importantly, that family is the most important thing in life. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his family.
Kevin enjoyed many things including being a member of the Nezperce Lions Club, hunting, fishing, gardening, basketball and refereeing, but spending time with his family was what Kevin enjoyed most. Watching his children and grandchildren grow and excel brought Kevin great joy.
He had the gift of gab. “Stranger” was not in his vocabulary. He could strike up a conversation with anyone. Unless you were trying to snap a photo of him, he always had a smile on his face.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rhonda of Culbertson/Nezperce; son Nathan (Hannah) Seitz of Grangeville, ID; three daughters Melissa (Shad) Strerath of Lewiston, ID, Michelle (Kevin) Cannon of Moscow, ID and Kelsie Seitz of Lewiston, ID; Grandsons Duke Strerath and Baby Cannon due July 2022; granddaughters Tenley and Adlee Strerath; brothers Jim (Lavonne) Seitz of Acton, MT, and Dave (Jennifer) Seitz of Billings, MT; sister Trish Kellogg of Camas, WA; and several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kevin is preceded in death by his mom and dad, Henry and Arlys Seitz; twin brother, Keith Seitz; mother and father-in-law, Alice and Ron Anderson; brothers-in-law, Allan Haines and Chuck Kellogg.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Smiths Billings West End Chapel, 304 34th St. West, Billings, MT. The family invites everyone for light refreshments after the Funeral Service at Smiths Billings West End Reception Hall.

Kevin was a wonderful person to know. I saw him as someone who had a passion for conservation, for soil health and dedicated to helping the agriculture producers and community. Time with Kevin was too short. To Kevin’s family – while I may not have met you, my heart is heavy for your loss. The only comforting words I can share is that he will always be with you – the memories that you’d long forgotten will come flooding back to you when you need him most. He will be in the smile of those grandchildren and live through the stories you tell to them about your husband and father.

As a high school teammate of Kevin, I can testify to his passion for the sport. I considered Keith and Kevin good friends in high school. As life led us in different directions I found myself remembering those times together fondly. Thank you Kevin for being part of that. Rest in peace, Kevin.

Dear Rhonda and family, we were so saddened to hear of Kevin’s passing. Kevin and his family have been such an important part of our community here in Nezperce. Kevin was a valued friend and colleague. It was Kevin’s passion about agriculture and soil conservation that started a major cover crop project here in Lewis County that we worked on together with other UI extension faculty and farmer cooperators. Kevin’s support of our local schools and athletic programs was so important over the years. Our children went to school with Kevin and Rhonda’s children and we appreciated each one so much! May God grant peace and strength in this very difficult time. Sincerely, Ken and Gail Hart

Marie (Krause) Lehfeldt says
My sincerest condolences to all of Kevin’s family……his siblings, wife, children & grandchildren. I knew Kevin & his Broadview family for several years. In fact, his grandmother was my godmother. I grew to know Kevin & his twin brother, Keith, while teaching them English & band in Broadview. At first, I had a difficult time telling them apart…but later realized they parted their hair on opposite sides! They were cute, respectful, brown-eyed boys. Kevin always had that mischievous smile & quiet manner about him. Even though I never had the opportunity to meet you, Rhonda, I know he must have been a very caring husband, father & grandfather. My heartfelt sympathy to you all.
Lorna Fortney Paulson says
