Kittie graduated from high school in Terry. After high school Kittie attended college where she received a teaching degree. She taught school in various country schools throughout this area. She was a very responsible teacher and one year she had to care for all of her students when they were all stranded by a severe snow storm that left them trapped in the school building for several days.
Kittie loved to travel and see new things. One year she and a couple girl friends jumped on their motorcycles and toured several mid eastern states, stopping along the way and working odd jobs whenever their funds ran low so they could continue on their grand adventure. In 1967 Kittie married Walt Davis in Billings. They lived in Wolf Point for several years. From this marriage she had two daughters, Jody Davis and Roxie Davis. Kittie and Walt divorced after several years and Kittie moved back to Terry to live near her sister Skippy Ban.Kittie and Skippy were very close sisters and they shared a devastating illness. They both developed multiple sclerosis and coped with that illness throughout their lives.Kittie bought a home in Terry where she raised her daughters. Her greatest pleasure was in watching the growth of those girls. She was so proud of the fact that Jody followed in her footsteps and became a school teacher in Hardin and Roxie became the Controller of Big Horn County Memorial Hospital in Hardin.Kittie's interests were broad and varied. Besides her lifelong love of cats, she enjoyed crocheting afghans, reading books of suspense, self-help psychology, and history. For entertainment she liked to play cards and she was a very lethal poker player.
On Monday night, July 19, she suffered a heart attack after working her garden at home. She was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Billings. The prognosis was grim and she was on life support until the early morning hours of Friday, July 23. Daughters Jody and Roxie were with her when she passed way.
