Kobe Lee Treible passed away peacefully in his sleep August 10, 2025.
Kobe was born on September 7, 1996 in Billings, MT to Keri Treible. They spent Kobe’s first six months living with Elton (Papa) and Michele (Granny) Treible. Kobe was his Granny’s baby boy and his Papa’s best buddy.
In 2000, Keri met Randy Kraus and soon after they moved to the farm in Rosebud, MT. Kobe gained a brother and two sisters. Out on the farm, Kobe came out of his pristine shell and became one of the farm kids; no more polos and fresh khakis for him. He loved to go with Randy and his siblings to do chores and just get dirty.
Kobe started Kindergarten at Rosebud School and finished his senior year there in 2015. He liked any class that he could learn hands on. He was active in soccer in Forsyth, and basketball, football, and track in Rosebud. Kobe liked to brag that he finished in the top 5 of his class. There were only 5 graduates that year.
During Kobe’s senior year, he owed a friend a favor and took Mariah Becker to her junior prom in Forsyth. Kobe was too shy to really have a conversation with Mariah at that time but six months later he finally found the courage to strike up conversation and they became inseparable. On December 31, 2015, he finally asked her out.
Kobe attended North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) in Wahpeton, ND while Mariah finished her senior year in Forsyth. Kobe somehow convinced Mariah to study at NDSCS the following year. Kobe completed his second year, and they moved back to Forsyth, MT.
When Kobe moved back, he began working for the City of Forsyth, alongside Richard Thompson. Kobe enjoyed the relationship they had and learned a lot from him. Although Kobe enjoyed work, he also enjoyed his time off. He spent his free time fishing, camping, hunting and traveling with Mariah and their two dogs.
Kobe proposed to the love of his life and best friend, Mariah, at the Grand Canyon in April of 2021. On June 11, 2022, Kobe and Mariah got married in Miles City, MT in the company of all their family and friends.
On February 22, 2024, Kobe and Mariah welcomed their son, Krew Elton, into this world. Kobe was an amazing father, and Krew meant the world to him. Although Kobe didn’t get much time on this earth with his son, he made every moment count with Krew. You could often find Kobe, Mariah, and Krew at the bowling alley, the golf course, or spending time with friends.
Kobe was known for his work ethic, his laid back “chill” attitude, and his ability to make a bad idea sound like a good time. He was a glass half-full kind of guy and could easily make friends wherever he went.
Kobe is survived by his wife, Mariah Treible and son, Krew Elton Treible; Parents Keri and Randy D. Kraus; Siblings Karriann (Greg) Short, Kami (Cody) Thompson, and Randy E. Kraus; Grandparents Michele Treible, Elton and Linda Treible; Aunts and uncles: Uncle Greg and Suzy Treible and their children Hunter, Rowan, and Jaxson, Aunt Angie Treible and her daughter Phoebe, and Aunt Darci and Nik Salmen and their son Roland. Also survived by his in-laws Annie and Ben Parr and their children Jade Becker (Mike Lira) and children Drake and Osias, Christian Parr, and Lane (Becca) Parr; Aunt Heidi and Cam Ickes; and Mariah’s Grandma Becky. Kobe is also survived by numerous great aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kobe also leaves behind several good friends including Rustie, Aaron, Cade, Chris, Billy, Zach, Drew, and others.

To all of Kobe’s family, may God hold you close in this trying time. There is nothing worse than losing a loved one except a loved one called way before their time. Remember him always and keep his spirit in your hearts. I did not have the privilege of knowing Kobe, but I knew the Treible family (Michelle, Angie and Elton) when I lived in Forsyth. My deepest condolences to all of you. Cooky
