Lambert “Bert” Vern Kaul, age 61, of Duvall, WA, formerly of Terry, MT passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Saturday, April 22, 2023 in Kirkland, WA.
Bert was born in Miles City, MT on April 19, 1962 to Janice Elaine (Trask) & Vernon Victor Kaul, joining his two older siblings. He was raised in the Terry area and graduated from Terry High School in 1980 before joining the Air Force.
While he was in the US Air Force, he was stationed in San Antonio, TX and Crete, Greece. After finishing his four years, he attended MSU – Bozeman earning a degree as a computer engineer. After college he moved to Kirkland, WA. He just so happened to be a member of a wedding party when he met his wife, Lonnie (Santee). They were married August 4, 1990 and a few years later their daughter Janel was born. They were married for 33 years. He found the job of his dreams at AT&T and Affiliates and worked their for over 30 years, writing code and solving technical issues.
Throughout his life he enjoyed camping, hiking, and biking outdoors, as well as his indoor hobbies of board games and computer games. He loved spending time and being with his immediate and extended family, but his favorite activity was enjoying Seahawk football, as he was an avid fan.
Bert is survived by his wife Lonnie and daughter Janel of Duvall, WA. He is also survived by his brother Jeff (Donna) of Great Falls, MT and Sister Stephanie of Billings, MT as well as In-laws Lisa (Jeff) Ockerman (Santee) of Olympia, WA and Rod Santee Jr. of Kalispell, MT. He is survived by other family members such as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews of all ages. Lambert was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside memorial service with full Military Honors will be held in Terry, MT on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 at 11:00am. Following the graveside service there will be a reception & luncheon at the American Legion. Everyone is invited.
If family and friends desire, memorials may be made in Lambert’s (Bert’s) honor to the charity of one’s choice or here are a few in the Seattle area as well as the Terry Pool.
