In Memory Of

Lance Nass

May 18, 1992 – December 19, 2011

Lance was born May 18, 1992, the son of Cheryl Petitt and and Terry Nass. Lance loved to ride bikes, play soccer, fishing, hunting, and hang out with friends.
Lance loved to play pool with his mother and his brother. He played summer pool league and was his mother's partner. Lance graduated high school from CCDHS and was very proud of his diploma; it being very difficult to earn after harassing Mr. Ogland and staff, loving every moment of it. Lance lived in Spearfish for a short time after graduation before returning home. He was just starting to learn the trade of laying floors with Mr. Bill and Joe which he really seemed to love. Lance was always there to help friends and family and loved to play video games and watch movies with friends.
Lance is survived by his mother, Cheryl of Miles City, father Terry of Minot, ND, brother LeRoy, and a sister Angel. He is also survived his step-dad Eric of Miles City, Special dad Joe Pangburn, and aunt Cyndi (Brad) of Sidney, cousins, Brook, Blane, and Landon, Aunt Michelle, Cousins Trace and Roper, Aunt Autumn (Lane) and kids from Jordan. Aunt Cactus and family from Florida. Grandparents Roy and Barb Petitt of Miles City, Bruce Hoover of Miles City, and Great Grandparents Bonnie and Floyd Hoover of Miles City. He is also survived by a special friend and mentor Jerry Spikens. A great uncle Rick (Betty) Brant of Nebraska, Kyle, AJ, and Tracy. Great Uncle Marlin (Pam) of Maine, cousins Jason and family from Michigan and cousin Nancy and family from Maine, his Great Grandma Florence Brant from Nebraska, Great Aunt Martha (Roger) and family from Bozeman, and a Great Aunt Margret (Dale) and family of Douglas, WY.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with family to receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. To Cheryl,Barb, and the family of Lance. Please know how truely sorry I am to hear about the loss of your loved one, Lance. My fondest memories of Lance, are those of when he was an adorable little boy rideing his bike around the neighborhood, playing with squirt guns, climbing trees, sleep overs, and stories of his fishing adventures.I remember watching him and my son playing in the yard, knowing that someday, too soon, they would be all grown up, and he did grow up to be a wonderful young man who was taken from us way too soon.I will always remember his smile, and how he was like a ray of sunshine when ever I saw him.So someday,in time, when the pain lessens, and you see that first ray of sunshine peeping through your curtains, or when you step outside, smile.. and remember how fortunate you were to have Lance in your lives and how very much he loved you all.

  37. Sarah Marie Elizabeth Butler says

    December 21, 2011 at 8:02 pm

I am glad to have been able to know Lance. He had a wild personality and made an impact on my life. H was a good kid although there were times he would argue that with me. He was that type of person who would take the smallest of things and make the best out of it and also make it fun. There was never a dull moment that was for sure. It is very hard to believe that Lance is gone and it is even harder to accept but I am doing my best and I hope everyone else is doing the same. My sympathy goes out to all of his family and friends who are dealing with the loss of someone so special. I will pray for each and every one of you, that God will provide us all with the strength to get through it and to know that Lance is watching over us.

I loved the times on facebook when he looked up this Great-Aunt and would chat with me and I would share things about the family he barely knew. Lance you were always thinking of others and you impacted many in the time you were here on earth.
