Interment: will follow in the family plot of the Lame Deer Cemetery.
Larenzo James Redfox Ontiveros, Nahkόhtsevaeיotśestse, Bear Looking Back, age 23 of Lame Deer, Montana was unexpectedly called home by Maheo on October 16, 2008.
Larenzo was born the son of Mellissa Deputee of Lame Deer, Montana and William Redfox of Boise, Idaho on July 4, 1985. He grew up in Muddy Cluster/Lame Deer, Montana. He attended school at Lame Deer Public School, Hardin High School, and graduated from St. Labre High School. He went on to Bismarck State College for 2 years. He participated in Basketball, swimming, track and cross country.
His hobbies included hunting, surfing the net, exercising, and spending time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed playing Xbox, PS3 and listening to his Ipod. He was a very talented basketball player who had the opportunity to participate in numerous tournaments in many different states and reservations. He also received a full ride basketball scholarship to play for the Bismarck Mystics. Christianity was a big part of his life. He never played a game without praying first. His favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13; I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. He was always a firm believer in the Lord. He was also a traditionalist and would have been a member of the Kit Fox Society.
He is survived by his companion, Leona Cass Bird and his unborn child, his parents, his adopted parents, Mike and Beldine Birdinground of Wyola, Montana, his maternal uncles and aunts; Howard Ontiveros, Cletus Lockwood, Roger Oldmouse, and Jeff McDonald; Edina (Brian) Red Star, Ethel Brady, Paulette (Randy) Wilson, Olympia Little Coyote, Rynalea Pea, Williamette Risingsun, and Parmalee (Darryl) Baker, Joey, Glenda, and Jolee Littlebird, Carrie (Dean) Small, Grover (Christy), Jodene (Karl), Darius (Velda) Deputee, Tamera (James) Goldsmith. He was preceded in death by his dad, Fred Deputee, Sr. and maternal grandparents, Felix Ontiveros, Jr. and Deloris Little Whirlwind; Paternal Great grandparents, Andrew White Hawk and Carrie American Horse; maternal uncles, Vince Brady and Mervin Little Coyote.
Wake Services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Allen Rowland Gymnasium in Lame Deer, Montana. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the N.C. Boys & Girls Club in Lame Deer, Montana. Internment will follow in the family plot of the Lame Deer Cemetery. Zo was a son, brother, friend, nephew, uncle, and soon to be dad. He was a one of a kind person with a lot of love to share. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Zo, we will never forget your curiosity, your energy, and your love for everyone, from babies to Grandmas. We know you and Gramma Dee will take care of each other.
