Lari Jean Beartusk, our Lar-Bear, age 43, too beautiful for Earth, gained her wings on June 5, 2024. She was the daughter of Mildred Eaglefeathers and Larry Beartusk. Lari is a descendent of Chief Dull Knife and has a rich history in a long line of Chiefs. Her Indian name was Taa’ xem eo’o’-e which means Buffalo Wallowing Woman after Virginia Spotted Elk White Dirt.
Lari Jean was a loving and caring daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunty, grandmother and friend! She would do anything and take on the world for her family and was a true ride or die for her friends! She was the silly one out of the family and always brought the laughs to every family gathering as well as hanging out with her friends. Not to mention thee BEST potato salad maker of all time!! Lari touched so many lives. Her love was fierce and her loyalty unmeasurable. She was a buffalo bills fan then became a die hard 49ers fan and loved to tease her sisters and brothers about their NFL teams. There are so many kind and loving words we can say about our Lar bear and all of things she loved to do but words will never be enough, her absence will be too enormous for words.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I taught Lari in first grade and she was quite a kid. She was a little organizer and would go ahead of me and get the kids organized and ready of me. At that time some of the kids went home earlier than others and so for the last half hour or so, there was only about half the class, at the end of the day. She would teach the other kids and mimic me, my tone of voice, my ways etc while she was teaching and playing. I loved her! I wanted to come to the service and thought I was watching for it, but found this too late to come. I want you to know that she was very special and I know she will be missed. My heart goes out to you as you grieve.
