Larry J. Cox, age 71, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at his home in Forsyth, Montana.
Larry was born on May 4, 1942, in Billings, MT to J.A. (Buster) and Helen Cox. He was the first of five children. He was raised in Hammond Valley, MT where he went to school until the 8th grade. He then attended Forsyth High School where he graduated in 1960.
He met the girl of his dreams, June Louise Martens, his freshman year and they were married May 12, 1962. To this union a son was born, Marty R. Cox. They lived on their ranch south of Vananda, MT until his retirement, then moving into Forsyth until his passing.
Larry was a jack of all trades, he was capable of fixing anything and many were the beneficiaries of this talent. He loved working on his ranch and his wife and son worked right along with him, making his home a wonderful place for all to go visit.
When Larry and June were first married, they worked in Lovell, WY for a while. Later he worked on the Yellowtail Dam at Fort Smith, MT, then moved back to Forsyth to their ranch.
Larry was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to go camping and did so every year, starting with tent camping and later finding hard sided camping was much more comfortable.
Larry was a friend to all and would help any who asked. Animals were also very dear to Larry and whenever they were in trouble (Porcupine quills, wire cuts, snake bites, etc) they would come to Larry for help, they knew he could help them and he always did.
Last but not least Larry loved playing cards with friends and family. It was one of his favorite pass times.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, June, and son Marty (Lucille). Grandchildren Tony (Jami), Michele, Kristin and 9 great grandchildren, siblings: Bonnie (John Prince), Elsie (Robert Martens), Tim (Pam), Pam Patterson, David (Bev) and several nieces and nephews.

T. Kelly says
Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. My heart goes out to the family. Death is something we will never get use to. In fact, God’s Word refers to death as an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26) It is comforting to know that very soon our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah God, will remove death once and for all and give us the opportunity to see our loved ones again here on the earth.
Ron and carol Moore says
Ron and I are deeply sorry for your loss. We will remember Larry’s sense of humor and friendly nature. Keep the memories alive at your hour of need.

June, Marty & family, I was saddened to hear of your loss. Larry was such a kind and giving man. I always enjoyed visiting with him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Hold tight to your memories. May he rest in peace.
Hans and Joan Hansen says
This is just not fair. You guys haven’t made it up here to visit us yet! We will never forget our hunting trips with you guys…especially the one to the White Sulpher Springs area. Larry made it so much fun because he was such a sweet man, and it was incredibly easy to embarass him. When you were with June and Larry, there was laughter, always and forever. What a fine man he has always been, and the world has been a better place because he was in it. June and Marty, and all of you kids we haven’t yet met, know that the heavens will be a little brighter because he is there. Tim and the rest of you siblings…..he always was the cutest of all of you…but you already knew that.
June, hang in there. I don’t know if anything will make it better for you for a while, but know that there are some old friends with heavy hearts thinking of you way up north. We were blest to have known your sweet husband.
Bob & Linda Miars says

My sincere condolences to the family of Larry J. Cox – May you find comfort in your loving memories, great pictures and in recalling the many talents of Mr. Cox. It was not the Creator’s purpose that mankind suffer and die (Romans 5:12). God has promised that a time will come when no one will say “I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24). In the Bible we are promised the resurrection of dear family members and friends that we have lost (John 5:28, 29). I hope you are comforted by Bible promises of a hopeful future (John 17:3).
