Larry Duane Long, Sr, age 54, of Oswego, MT passed away peacefully at his home on October 11, 2007.
Larry was born on June 16th, 1953 in Wolf Point, MT to Clifford V. and Ellen S. (Kjelgaard) Long. He was raised in Frazer where he attended and graduated from Frazer High School. He Played basketball, track and won the poetry award in 4th grade!Following High School he married Roxie Jackson and moved to Kansas where they had two children Larry Jr, and Brandy Long. They later divorced.
In Kansas he started his career in painting with Joe Beston, Sr. He later moved back to Frazer where he married the love of his live Teri Todd on January 12th, 1980. From this union they were blessed with two children Travis and Patricia Long.His field of expertise was various forms of the building trade; this took him all over the United States. From 1994 to 1996 Larry & Teri owned and operated O-O in Frazer. He then successfully managed the Tribal Ranch, south of Frazer from 1996 to 2004.After he left the Tribal Ranch he bought a house in Oswego and beautifully remodeled the house for his family to make a home. The last 4 years Larry owned TL Construction along with his son, Travis, who now carries on his dads profession.Since his illness in March of 2007, which tried to keep him down, he remained full of life and optimistic. He lived everyday to the fullest.
He enjoyed riding and breaking horses, WWF on Monday nights, spending time with is family, working with his hands, boating, camping, playing pool, cooking; especially his salsa and pancakes on Sunday morning, hunting, listening to the daily Trade-o show, and going to the Horseshoe bar to visit his friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Cliff.He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Teri of Oswego, MT. Two sons; Larry (Lynn) Long Jr of Spokane, WA, Travis (Starre) Long of Oswego, MT. Three daughters; Brandy (Dean Garfield) Long of Frazer, MT, Patricia (Norman) Sibley of Wiota, MT, and Kelsey Long of Oswego, MT. His mother; Ellen Long of Fort Benton, MT. Two Sisters; Jan (Dick) Fisher and Laura (Terry) Ascheim both of Fort Benton, MT. Two brothers; Calvin (Pam) Long of Havre, MT, and Clifford Wally Long of Fort Benton, MT. Five Grandchildren; Josie, Jessie, and Justin White and Hallie and Travis, Jr Long. And with one on the way in January, 2008. Also by numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was a wonderful man that was always there to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will always be remembered.
