Larry D. Williams, age 69, of Hysham, MT passed away after a courageous three year battle against cancer on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
Larry was born on May 31, 1941 the son of Joseph and Ethel (Johnson) Williams in Forsyth, MT. He was raised and attended school in Hysham, MT and graduated from Hysham High School in 1960. Larry started working with his father while he was in high school and following graduation worked full time in his fathers business as a heavy equipment operator and then eventually took over the business. For the last five years he also worked as a ditch rider for YID.
He met Sharon Seader through a friend in Forsyth and they were united in marriage on July 8, 1961 in Forsyth. Together they lived and raised their children in Hysham.Larry was a Presbyterian, Mason, President of Mid Yellowstone Electric, and was on the MECA board. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, motorcycles and three wheelers. He enjoyed going for rides in the country with his family and friends. His real passion was serving other people. Larry always had time to visit with a friend. Most of all he worked hard for his family. Larry worked hard on earth running machinery and now he is digging ditches for the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph and daughter Lori Metcalf.
Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon of Hysham, MT; his mother Ethel Williams of Hysham, MT; his son-in-law Mark Metcalf (Angela, Damion & Sara) of Hysham, MT; his daughters Vicky & Donald Rau (Brittney & Blayne) of Glendive, MT and Melissa & Richard Welch (Dillon & Shayna) of Hysham, MT; his sons Michael & Brandi Williams (Olivia & Jack) of Billings, MT and Derek & Brandy Williams (Jacob & Maddison) of Hysham, MT; his sisters Karen (Tom) VanHaele of Hysham, MT, Gail (Steve) Hikel of Hilger, MT and Elaine (Paul) OLeary of Gold Creek, MT; and one great granddaughter Raygen Metcalf.
Family suggests that memorials be made to Oncology at the Billings Clinic.
