Dora Meidinger-Huckins says
Larry and his wife were the nicest people! I remember staying at their basement home in Terry many times in my childhood days with Laurie! He was always friendly and would show us his beautiful jewelry at his jewelry store! He was experienced in repairing and fixing watches and broken jewelry pieces! It was sad to see the family move from Terry…
My sincere condolences to Larry’s family and circle of friends! ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️

Lavina worked with Larry at Perkins Jewelry years ago, and I carried his mail for years. He was always upbeat and concerned about others. He will be missed.
Bernadette Miller says
Larry was so involved in our family. The Miller crew pretty much adopted Larry as Grandpa, Uncle, brother or just best friend. Verlin and Larry were the best of friends and I don’t know who helped who the most. Larry was with Verlin through all of his cancer journey and Verlin gave Larry things to do so kept his days with something to do besides watching tv. Larry was best friends with all of the college kids that we had over for dinner. The girls always ask how Larry is when I talk to them. And Sunday morning breakfast was a must – good coffee, good food and lots of friends joined us each week. And Larry liked to go for drives after breakfast, I would drive around in the country and see the new baby calves or lambs or just drive around town and I would point out new buildings or new businesses. Oh and he loved the caramel macchiato from the coffee shop or a dilly bar from dairy queen. He was always concerned about his neighbors and liked to visit when the weather was good.
what a sweet, sweet man Larry was, so kind and prayerful. He will be missed by the community.

Larry and Judy Jens says
Larry was such a soft-spoken, gentle man. He always lit up when he saw a Terry face and seemed so genuinely pleased to have a brief visit. I remember taking a watch to his home in Miles City for repair, after he retired from the jewelry store. He took me into his little shop, which was a bay window so very well outfitted with jewelry and watch repair tools and supplies. He fixed it on the spot, and didn’t want to take anything for doing it. I insisted and left some money. What a kind person he was. He lived as we all should aspire to, a simple life always showing gentleness and kindness to others. Bless his family as they remember their dad’s well-lived life.
Ramona Woods says
My most sincere condolences to my Shipp family and cousins. Uncle Larry was the last remaining of the original 6 siblings. He was there for my father, his brother Raymond, in his final hour with kind words and love. I am sure my father was there with him in his final hour as well to help lead him to the Creator. In my time of grief, Uncle Larry wrote to me the most comforting condolence. I wish everyone peace at this time.
With much love,
Ramona (Shipp) Woods

Tara Dunning says
I met Larry for the first time at one of Bernadette and Verlin Miller’s college dinner nights. We would gather once a week and share time and stories and play cards. Larry once brought over all his pictures from his time in the South Pacific and told us all about his time there. He was living history and easy to love. Larry was someone who radiated energy. He had this way of seeing simple things like breakfast at the Olive or a boy’s trip up to Billings with Verlin as the most exciting adventure. His love for life was contagious and time spent with him was often filled with smiles and laughter. I used to work in a couple of the coffee shops in Miles City and I remember the first time I made him a Blended Caramel Macchiato. He was over the moon! He kept repeating “Wow, that’s refreshing!”, or “So, refreshing!” again and again, like he was drinking out of the holy grail. He became one of my good friends, and his joy and positivity will be severely missed. Love and Prayers to his family and friends.

Larry is just my favorite guy. He always came in to the bank with a smile and a hug for me. When he had family in town he would bring them to the bank to meet me. And he would write me little notes and mail them to me at the bank. He was truly an amazing man. I feel very lucky to have been able to share part of his life. He will be very missed.
