On Sunday Nov, 24 2019, that son of a B, cancer, stole away another beautiful and incredibly strong woman from this world. After fighting for ten months against lung cancer, Lauri Ann Anderson went peacefully to rest in Miles City, MT surrounded by her children, the love of her life Rich Perkins, and her sister-in-law Jean Jones.
As a mother of seven, her memorable moments are too many too list. She introduced Harry Potter to us long before it was #ontrend, spent spontaneous summer days with us at the lake (with all of us fighting for a seat on her raft as soon as she took to the water), ingrained an independent nature into all of us, was magically aware of if any of her kids were in a bind, and was always ready with a medical answer to questions about weird rashes or pain. Lauri also had incredible pride being a grandma to her grandchildren, three of which arrived this year. She held onto life as long as she could in order to greet them into this world with a snuggle, hug, and a smooch. Lauri’s number one passion in life was nursing. She enjoyed working and serving the veterans as a psychiatric nurse for the VA for many years before she settled into a much loved career as a correctional care nurse.
Mom fell in love and started a couple of families in her life. She had two children with her first husband Red Hendrickson, and five children/three step children with her second husband David Anderson. She was lucky enough to find love again and spend the last 6 years with, as she always referred to him, her person and soulmate Rich Perkins. He will miss her colorful daily work stories and the multiple attempts to teach her to play golf. She would probably haunt me for life if I didn’t also mention she had incredible talent as a quilting artist (Ok Mom, I got you back for the high school interview now ;p ). Many of us in her family are lucky enough to snuggle ourselves to bed under one of her quilted watercolor masterpieces. While we lost one of the most resilient souls in our presence, she decided to continue on in this world as a memorial tree, an incredibly charming solution for her severe claustrophobia. Her celebration of life and planting of her living urn will be held in the spring.
She is survived in death by her children Brittany Hendrickson (Jon), Kate Hendrickson, Tashandra Hendrickson, Landon Anderson (Brittani), Lyndsee Anderson (Jarod), Adriane Anderson, and Zachary Anderson. As well as her grandchildren Adam Durcholz, James and Emily Belisle, and Layton Anderson.

Lauri will always be remembered for her bubbly personality and her fun sense of humor. We have many happy memories of her as a child and young adult when we babysat when her parents Bob and Edith went hunting in the Tetons. She was a great storyteller and always made us laugh. She was a ray of sunshine and we are sorry for your loss. May God give strength at this difficult time. With love, Joe and Carla Granger

So so sorry for your loss! May God give you all comfort & soothe your heartache. ♡♡♡
Lauri Ann was a special lady to me since I was a small child… she would babysit us and of course I thought she was so cool! Years later, after we both had families we were reminiscing about that- the funny thing was we had different perspectives. She said she couldn’t get me to go to bed & I remember thinking she wanted me to stay up with her to chat. We had a good chuckle over that. She will always hold a special place in my heart!
♡with love, Sonia & Phil Willett

Many wonderful memories at Lauri’s house while growing up! I remember one specific time I was there and for some reason Kate and Brittany weren’t, so I just sat and visited with Lauri, and she told me a few stories about the old preacher Ralph (he died right after I was born). Not sure why I remember that but it’s heartwarming to think of. Lauri had a definite presence and a big smile; she will be missed. Love to her family ♥️
