LAVINA LONE DOG PERRY (Tiwahe Waste Win)Good Family Woman
Lavina Perry age, 90 of Fort Kipp passed away on June 17, 2006 at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston, North Dakota of natural causes.
Lavina was born on November 5, 1915 in Blair, Montana, daughter of Clyde Lone Dog and Ruth Bull Eagle. She married Frank Perry on February 17, 1935 in Fort Kipp, to this marriage eleven children were born. Lavina was a dedicated homemaker raising her children and many grandchildren.
Lavina was fluent in speaking her Dakota language, teaching the Dakota language in the Brockton and Poplar public schools and the Headstart students. She was well known for her star quilts, she taught starquilting making at the Fort Peck Community College.Lavina was a life time member of the Red Eagle Presbyterian Memorial Church in Fort Kipp, Montana. She was also a member of the Red Eagle Presbyterian Ladies Aid group and held office for many years.
She is survived by four daughters and three sons; Madiline Moran of Fort Kipp, Vernita Buckles and Leta Atkinson of Poplar, Irene Wilkens of Wolf Point, Clyde (Clarice), Adrian (Jackie) Perry of Fort Kipp and Victor (Barbara) Perry of Poplar, 25 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lavina is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 daughters and 2 sons.
A family service will be held Thursday June 22, 2006 with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Red Eagle Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fort Kipp. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the James Black Dog Activity Center in Fort Kipp. Interment will be held at the Fort Kipp Cemetery.
