Lawrence “Larry” Collins Bigback Sr., age 73, of Busby

September 24, 1947 – September 23, 2021

Descendent of Red Sleeve, Geronimo Chiricahua Apache.

Larry was born in Crow Agency on September 24, 1947. He attended Busby Boarding School and then went on to attend college at Sheridan College in Sheridan Wyoming before transferring to Hazelden, Minnesota where he obtained his Associates Degree in Counseling. He was a proud member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, and a member of the Kit Fox Warrior Society.

He had many achievements throughout his life being selected for boy’s state and also for the West Point Military Academy. He was a State Champion in Plentywood for the softball fast pitch team.

Larry had many roles being the Police Officer for the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, Security Officer for the Northern Cheyenne Tribal School, Drug & Alcohol Counselor for Northern Cheyenne Recovery Center, a house parent for St. Labre Youth Homes, and a member of the KitFox Society.

In his earlier years Larry was an avid hunter and basketball player. He had a lot of fond memories of his hunting days . An outdoorsman who loved to go camping and fishing. He was a loving father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. Always had a kind word, lots of laughter, and words of wisdom.
Larry was proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by Michael, Charlotte Ann, Twin baby girls, Geraldine, Christine, Marie Rowena (wife), Larry Bigback Jr., Lara Bigback, Teisha Bigback.
He is survived by children of Robert and Gladys Mae Bigback Sr., Ronald (Cyndi), Robert (Michelle) Bigback Sr., Gordon (Ruth), Leslie Bigback Sr., Maria (Hank) Bigfire.
Surviving Aunts: Marie Littlewolf, Madeline “Shorty” Yellowrobe, Jeannie Strangeowl.

Children: Kimberly Big Back, Sheri (Jim) Bement, Hadley (Corrie) Bigback, Kyle Bigback, Amberly Blaine, Ernest and Edward Getsdown, Alias Bigback.
Relatives: Bigback, Risingsun, Yellowrobe, Russell, Floyd & Louise Fisher Family, Martha Charette Family, Rockroads, Two Moons, BigHawk, Elkshoulder, Littlewhiteman, Spotted Eagle, Lonebear, Walksalong, Bearquiver, Two Babies, Two Hatches, Hadley, Littleoldman, Americanhorse, Headswift, BigFoot, Biglefthand, Hollowbreast, Cross, Grey, Stands in Timber, Medicinebull, Sandcrane, Whistlingelk, Deafy, Sooktis, Whiteman, Bites, Grinsell, Spottedwolf, Killsontop, Littlesun, Shoulderblade Geiouty.
