Interment: will follow in the family lot of the Pioneer Cemetery in Jordan
Lawrence Wayne Hunter, age 68, of Jordan passed away on Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Wayne was born in Jordan, Montana on January 26, 1938, the son of Walter Bud and Frances (Swanser) Hunter. He attended country grade school and graduated from Garfield County High School. Following graduation, he began working construction until he started Hunter Trucking which he owned and operated until the time of his death. Wayne married Rose Weimer on November 11, 1956. Wayne loved to hunt and read. He was a workaholic.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Rose Hunter of Jordan, MT; a son, Kent Hunter and his wife Kristi of Billings, MT; a daughter Kim Smotherman and her husband Larry ofWinnett, MT; a sister-in-law, MimiGallanger and her husband Art of Jordan, MT; two grandchildren: Shannel and Dwayne and a great grandchild, Courtney.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 3006 at 10:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Pioneer Cemetery in Jordan.
