Lawrence Robert Richard, age 83, of Wolf Point, MT passed away May 31, 2010 at the NEMHS in Wolf Point, MT.
Lawrence was born on April 7, 1927 in Vida, MT to Romeo and Juliette Richard.In 1953, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany until 1955.He married Verda Ann Steen on July 23, 1955 in Alexander, ND and to this union 7 children were born, Allen, Mary, Jerry, Rodney, Larry, Byron, and Mark.Lawrence worked as a farmer, bus driver, carpenter, and as custodian at Wolf Point High School. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, and going hunting with the boys.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Richard; a daughter, Mary Richard; parents, Romeo and Juliette Richard; a brother, Phillip Richard; and sisters, Germaine Bailley, Bernadette Cheeney, Rose Kerscher, and Jane Richard.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Verda Richard of Vida, MT; sons, Allen (Denise) Richard of Wolf Point, MT, Rodney (Michele) Richard of Billings, MT, Larry Richard of Billings, MT, Byron (Melanie Mosley) Richard of Gillette, WY, and Mark (Dawn) Richard of Billings, MT; sisters, Rita Richard of Helena, MT, and Margaret (Frank) Miller of Helena, MT; 7 grandchildren, Brad, Michelle, Daylon, Parker, Shaena, Devin and Ashlyn; and 4 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Brenna, Talyn, and Olivia.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, MT starting at 1:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Wolf Point, MT.
