Funeral Services: Funeral services will be held 10:30am Thursday, September 16, 2004 in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at 1108 24th Street West in Billings, MT.

Interment: Friday, September 17, 2004 at 10:30 am in Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point, M T

Lawrence Robert Hovey, 87, died Friday evening, September 10, 2004 in Billings, MT.

Bob was born in Frazer, Valley County, Montana the son of L. E. & F. P. (Grey) Hovey on December 12, 1916. After graduating from Frazer High School, he attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Bob graduated from the Minneapolis Business College in Minneapolis, MN. On September 7,1939, he married Bess Terry in First Lutheran Church in Glasgow, MT. During World War II, Bob served in States Army with the 163rd Infantry Battalion.

A great enjoyment in his life was business. His involvement in various businesses included retail grocery, restaurant, wholesale candy & tobacco sales, retail jewelry, apartment management, automobile sales & service, real estates development, banking, franchise food service, hotel management & stock trading. Bob served on the General Motors Planning Board.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point, MT., a Mason & a member of the Al Bedoo Shrine Temple, a Charter Member of the B. P. O. E. Lodge # 1764, and was active in the Wolf Point Loins Club & Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce.

Bob is survived by his wife, Bess, of Billings, MT; two sons, Larry (& Bev) Hovey of Poway, CA & Bob Hovey of Billings, MT; grandson Larry (& Kirsten) Hovey of Portland, OR; granddaughters, Sarah (& Mark) Marien of Vancouver, WA & Jennifer Hovey of New York, NY; and great-granddaughter, Anna Hovey of Portland, OR. He is also survived by his sister, Doris Leask of Metlacatla, AK. & brother-in-law, Rudy Racki of Shasta Lake City, CA; eight nephews & four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, C. E. "Bud" Hovey & two sisters, Dorothy M. Racki & K. G. "Sis" Charleson.

Funeral services will be held 10:30am Thursday, September 16, 2004 in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at 1108 24th Street West in Billings, MT., with Pastor Timothy Singleton officiating. Internment will be held 10:30am Friday, September 17, 2004 in Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point, M T. with Pastor Gregory Holler-Dinsmore officiating. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary & Crematory of Billings, MT & Clayton-Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point, MT are in charge of arrangements.
