Leland was born on December 7, 2007, at Crow Agency, MT to Delmarie Shoulderblade and Leland Rock Jr. Leland’s Cheyenne name is after his maternal great grandfather, Ben Blackwolf.
Leland attended Elementary School at St. Labre, while attending school there he was baptized at the Catholic Church. He participated in Soccer. He also attended Ashland Public School, where he participated and excelled in sports. He graduated 8th Grade from Morning Star Junior High in May 2023. He was currently a freshman at Morning Star High School. Leland’s favorite activities was riding horses, being a ranch hand, and hanging out with his friends. Robert Bearchum Jr. was an inspiration to Leland as he took time to teach him horsemanship. Leland has spent many hours at Robert’s working and riding horses. Leland also loved and cared for his younger brothers and sisters. One of his morning routines was to go outside to watch the sunrise.
Leland was preceded in death by his maternal great grandmother, Geraldine Bigback; great grandparents, Bernadine Sr., Wendell Jr, Don (Porkchops), Mary and Francis Shoulderblade; uncles, Dana and BJ Shoulderblade; Aunt Starla Shoulderblade; paternal great grandmother, Arleta Young; grandfather, Leland Rock Sr.
Leland is survived by his mother, Delmarie (Eloy Brady); father, Leland Jr. (Pearly Jo); siblings, Jamison, Terrell, Clara (King), & Navaeh Rock, Eloy Jr., Jarius, Emellio, Eliya, Gavin, Isis, Essa, and Eva Brady; niece, Kyra Grace; aunts, Brittany Whiteman, Amy Yellowtail; uncles, Darrell Whiteman Jr., Elijah, Luke, & Zack Rock; grandparents, Serena Shoulderblade, Bernadine Shoulderblade Jr., Wilma Two Moons, Twilla Old Chief, & Amy Yellowtail.

I wasn’t close with Leland nor friends but I can say he was a very kind person, he kept to himself and didn’t get himself in situations he didn’t need to be in. He will forever be missed and he did not deserve this. #Justiceforleland
