Leland Wayne Bearcomesout, age 44, of Lame Deer, MT passed away November 1, 2010. He was named after his uncle Mike Aenoheso (Swift Hawk).
Leland was born November 2, 1965 at Crow Agency to Charles Bearcomesout and Lillian Limpy. He attended Chemawa Indian School in Salem, OR and the University of Montana College of Technology in Missoula receiving a degree in welding. Leland went on to use his degree by working as a welder.Leland and Tracy Arthur were married in Montana in 1984 and later separated. He entered the Army Reserve in 1985 and served for eight years before receiving his honorable discharge in 1993.Leland was a member of the Native American Church and was a member of the Elk Scraper Society.
Leland was preceded in death by his mother Lillian; paternal grandparents Pete and Martha Bearcomesout and maternal grandfather Henry Limpy.He is survived by his father Charles Bearcomesout (Donna); children Jocelyn, Gerald, Troy, Talissa, Elias, Alfredine Ally, Deviah; sisters and brother Oma (Daniel) American Horse, Victoria Fischera-Ramirez, Tamara Bearcomesout and Tynan Bearcomesout; maternal grandmother Agnes Limpy; paternal aunts and uncles Herman (Sharon) Bearcomesout, Phyllis (Llevando) Fisher, Michael (Victoria) Bearcomesout, Mary Ann Bearcomesout, and Peter Jr. (Crystal) Bearcomesout; maternal aunts and uncles Clifford Limpy Sr., Homer Limpy, Eugene Limpy Sr.,James Limpy, Raymond Limpy, Elvis Old Bull, Glenn Manley, Mary Jane Limpy and Hilda Moss; cousins Tawnya, Loren, Neela, Lindi, Palmeda, Mitzi, Tyree, Michelene, Michael Jr., Marlin, Corey, Lorilie, Leslie, Erica, Memri, Shyla, Tyson, Leona, Peter III and April.
Wake services will be held on Friday November 5, 2010 from 7:00pm to midnight at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer, MT. At midnight the wake will continue at the Oma and Daniel American Horse residence on Alderman Road.Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 6, 2010 at 11:00am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lame Deer, MT with burial following in the family cemetery on Rosebud Creek.Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth has been entrusted with the arrangements and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.
