LeRoy Nielsen

Funeral Service: Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City

Interment: will be held at a later date in the Outlook Cemetery in Outlook, MT

LeRoy Nielsen, age 80, of Miles City passed away on Wednesday, January
23, 2008 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.

LeRoy was born on June 11, 1927 in Plentywood, Montana, the son of Andrew and Caroline (Jorgenson) Nielsen. He received his education from schools in Outlook, Montana. LeRoy drove propane truck for five years while he lived in Cut Bank. He then took a home study course to become an electrician. He began his career as an electrician by working as an apprentice for Plentywood Electric. He received his journeyman license in 1950. He continued his work until he retired in 1990.LeRoy and Lucille Lee were married on June 14, 1947 in Plentywood, Montana. To this union, seven children were born.

LeRoys hobby was working in his bicycle shop in Glasgow during the 1950s until moving to Miles City in 1962. Other hobbies include hunting, fishing and traveling, but most of all his family and friends and talking to them on the phone when he couldnt be there in person. LeRoy also enjoyed going to Bump and Runs and Demolition Derbies with his family. Restoring and driving his 1966 Rambler American was also one of his favorite pastimes. He loved watching Nascar and especially going to Colorado to watch the racing with his son-in-law. He truly enjoyed his trips to Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

LeRoy is survived by his children: MarLee Kay (Bruce) Baxter, Betty Nielsen, Sandi (Paul) Barnes, Mark Nielsen and Kelly (Joe) Pierce, two brothers, Vernon and Richard, a sister, Alice Nelson, eight grandchildren: Brandon Tennant, Cheryl Ueland,Dion Scott Ehrle, Patricia Clodfelder, Jennifer Borchers, Michael Nielsen, Tara Wellnitz and Ryan Wellnitz and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Roy Leslie; a daughter Jann Ehrle; and a brother, Robert Bobby.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 1:00 p.m.8:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will be held at a later date in the Outlook Cemetery in Outlook, MT. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.
