On November 12, 1947 Leroy was born to Lloyd and Margaret (Redcherries) Runsabove in Pine Ridge, SD. Leroy is a direct descendant of Chief Little Wolf and Chief Red Cloud. He was also proud of the fact that he was related to President William McKinley. He received his education at Lame Deer Public School, Colstrip Public School, St. Labre Catholic School, and finally graduated from Lapwai High School. In April 1968 Leroy enlisted into the U.S Army. Soon after, he was deployed to Vietnam where he served his country until he was Honorably discharged in April of 1970. Leroy met the love of his life, his soulmate Charolette Brady in the summer of 1975. On October 6, 1978 they were married in Sheridan, WY. To this union they had two beautiful daughters, Autumn Dawn and Pepsi Webb. Their family became complete when they were blessed with a handsome son, George Douglas Mckinley in 2015. Leroy worked at the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a Heavy Equipment Operator from 1975 to 1992. He then moved to the Road Maintenance Department until his retirement in January 2016. Leroy is survived by: the love of his life Charolette, daughters Autumn Dawn and Pepsi Webb, son George Douglas McKinley, name sake Stacie Lee, grandchildren Branlee, N’zshonico, Jason Jr., Jacob, Cameron, Sylvia, Aiden, Kaiden, Sway, Diandra, and Halle, great grandchildren Sammy, Maniah, Spur Jr., Peyton, unborn due in May, Shaughnessy, Celeste, Ezelyn, and Kingston, brother Webby (Gail), sisters Rose, Georgia, and Margaret, sister in law Danna Runsabove and family, Charlene Robinson and family, brother in laws Robert Yellowfox and family, and Charleston Yellowfox and family, God children Robert Yellowfox Jr., Carol Costa, Mariah Yellowfox, and Frank Runsabove, adopted daughters Sunshine Curlee, Desiree Pavek, Leslie, Marti, and Misty LaFranier, adopted siblings Georgia and Bonnie Burns, Emma Harris, Connie Brien, Alonzo Walker, and Jack Burns, special friends Cleve LaFranier, Shannon Seminole, Leon Sioux, Ronnie Beartusk, and Jason Standing Elk. Leroy is preceded by his parents Lloyd and Margaret, brothers Bill and Cactus, sister Della, and Grandson Samuel. Relatives include: Posey, Chavez, Littlebird, Mexican Cheyenne, King, Red Cherries, Tall Bull, Wild Hog, Small, Harris, Spotted Elk, Medicine Top, Hiwalker, Lonebear, Kellum, Blackstone, Seminole, Shoulderblade, Whitewoman, Red Cloud, Brings, Collins, Susie Wilsey and family.
