In Memory Of

Lester Tusler

Visitation: Sunday, December 11, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry.

Funeral Service: Monday, December 12, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry.

Interment: Prairie County Cemetery.

Lester DeWayne Tuster, age 85, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, December 5, 2005. He had moved to Helena in July to be nearer to his family.Lester, the youngest son of Henry H. and Clara Etta (Braley) Tusler, he was born August 10, 1920 at Terry, Montana. Lester was educated in the local schools including the Young, Broadview, and Terry High Schools. On June 8, 1941, Lester and Rose Martin were married in Miles City, Montana. They enjoyed over 63 years together. He worked on the family ranch located about 6 miles southeast of Terry until 1946 when he and Rose took over management of the ranch. In 1979 they retired and moved into Terry. While on the ranch, Lester and Rose enjoyed hosting many family gatherings. He took great pride in his herd of Black Angus cattle. Lester loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica along with Rose playing the banjo. They also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, fishing, camping, square dancing, agate hunting and making agate jewelry.Lester and Rose became interested in the senior center when they moved to Terry. Lester volunteered his time along with others in remodeling the building where the current Senior Center is located. He and Rose spent many years participating in the activities and hosting the Saturday card night at the center.Lester is a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry and served on the board of trustees. He also served three terms on the Board of Directors of the Terry Farmers Union Trading Co., 5 years as a member of the Council on Aging, and several years as president of the Senior Center Board.

Lester is survived by his two sons, Glen (Leola) of Helena and Kurt (Candy) of Spokane, Washington. Five granddaughters also survive. They are Leslie (Kris) Stauffer of Richland, Washington, Michelle (Mike) Burman of Missoula, Cindy (Jeff) McAdam of Boston, Jacinda Tusler of Spokane, and Jessica (Mark) Lee of Chicago. Lester also was a great-granddad to Stephanie and Brittany Burman and Jordan and Matthew Stauffer. Many nieces and nephews also survive their Uncle Lester.

Besides his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his wife, Rose. He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Myrtle, Irene, Henrietta, Sheldon, Thelma, Forest and Fern.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Prairie County Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Terry Community Senior Center, Community Presbyterian Church or to the Prairie County Nursing Home.
