Leta Josephine Murray, age 87, of Miles City passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Cottonwood Care Home in Miles City.
Leta was born on March 27, 1921 in Jerrel, Texas, the daughter of Harry Hunter and Emily Fay (Atkinson) Dodson.
She was raised and attended schools in Liberty Hill, Texas. She attended one year at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and one year at Seton Nursing School in Austin, Texas. Leta married William Diaz Murray on June 24, 1945 in Liberty Hill, Texas. Following their marriage, they ranched in Texas. In 1982, they moved to Montana to live on their ranch East of Miles City.
Leta is survived by her son, Dee Hunter (Karen) Murray of Miles City, MT; daughters: Jodie Warren (Ronald) Waggoner of Burnet, TX and Martha Lois (Jimmy) Dusek of San Angelo, TX; eight grandchildren: Kasey Branum, Ross Murray, Warren and William Waggoner, JoAnna Jose, and Dee, Dan and Jeffery Dusek, thirteen great grandchildren, two brothers: Galen Dodson of Dripping Springs, TX and David Dodson of Belton, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Diaz Murray and a very special aunt Lois Redford.
