Levi Roland Rath, age 57, of Miles City left us on Saturday, October 29, 2016.
Levi was born on September 5, 1959 in Miles City, Montana to Richard “Dick” and Helen (Watson) Rath. He was raised on various ranches in eastern Montana and went to school in Colstrip and graduated from Forsyth High School. After school he worked numerous ranch jobs, did customs harvesting, and began his long journey as one of the hardest truckers ever. For the majority of his adult life he drove truck with Schenk Inc. and Moore Trucking but he also drove for Mark Herden, Mike Wacker and Kenny Herden. He had a natural knack with horses even though he didn’t spent a lot of time with them. He was married to Gloria and they had a daughter Hannah. He later married Melissa Stroh and they had four children: Brittany, Garrett, RyAnn and Richard. He later married Shammy Cooper and they had three children: Cooper, Leah & Peyton. He loved his kids and always enjoyed spending time with them and especially loved to watch Richard do ranch bronc riding.
Levi’s interests included family and trucking. He devoted much of his time and energy as a father and husband also being a helping hand anywhere he was needed whether at work, home, or with friends. His dry sense of humor and his big heart enlightened a room any given moment.
Levi is survived by his mother, Helen Rath; four sisters: Darla Mann, Carla Buffington, Pat Corbin and Alice Cameron; his spouse Shambrill (Shammy) Rath and their three kids: Leah, Cooper and Peyton also his three kids with Melissa Stroh: Garrett, Richard and RyAnn; and five grandchildren: Ian, Paisley, Parker, Jettin & Evealyn. He was preceded in death by his dad, two children: Hannah and Brittany and his brother Ed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Pioneer Cemetery in Jordan. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
