Lillian Eileen (Schlepp) Brooks, age 75, of Miles City formerly of Cohagen/Jordan passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.
Lillian was born on the farm at Wason Flats, which later became a Cohagen Rural Route on February 25, 1941, the daughter of John K. and Mathilda (Naasz) Schlepp. She attended country grade school and was a high school graduate of Garfield County High in Jordan, Montana. On July 1, 1961, Lillian married Jack Brooks. They worked on the Brooks family ranch until 1977, moving to Jordan where she was a nine year employee at the Garfield County Bank. In 1989, they moved to Halliday, North Dakota where they owned and operated Brooks Restaurant until 1995, returning to Jordan then to Miles City in 1999, working for various businesses.
Lillian is survived by a son, Dale Brooks and his wife Mary of Hysham, MT; step-daughters: Alice and her husband Donald John Cameron of Ingomar, MT; Patricia and her husband Robert Corbin of Forsyth, MT; a step daughter-in-law Diane Brooks-Williams of Rural Miles City, MT; a sister Virginia Bell Ness of Pablo, MT; a brother John (Dee) Schlepp of Rural Miles City, MT; and her step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack in 1999; a step son Ed Brooks; and three sisters: Violet Helm, Lydia Bankey-Ristoff and Viola Schlepp.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow at the Cohagen Cemetery. A potluck luncheon will follow the graveside service at the Cohagen Hall. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
