Funeral Service: Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 10:00 am at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City
Linda Louise Stearns, 58, of Miles City, went to be with the Lord Jesus on December 6, 2005 with her family at her bedside.
Linda was born January 14, 1947 in Wellington, Kansas to Elwin and Millie (Keck) Stearns. She was a happy child and always had a lot of friends. Due to her fathers career in the oil business, Linda and her family relocated often to locations throughout the western U.S. and Canada. While in Utah, Linda met Cliff Grant who worked with her dad. They fell in love, were married on October 2, 1964 in Vernal, Utah, and she was excited to start a family with him. Cliff and Linda lived mostly in Wyoming and Montana and had four children, Connie, Sheila, Cliff Jr., and Elwin.
Linda married Jim Dubois on December 9, 1995 in Florida. They had a strong friendship and spent time sharing life and working together in Montana. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family; she especially liked cooking plenty of food for all and playing card games afterwards. Linda had an interest in photography and writing reading her writings gave her children insight into her mind and her heart. She also liked decorating yellow was her favorite color and she had a fondness for yellow roses and small lamps.Linda loved her children with all her heart. She devoted her life to caring for and raising them as best as she could. Her children have many memories of how their Mom made their childhood special and memorable. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren she would get down on the floor and play whatever they wanted, she just loved being with them and making them giggle and laugh.
Linda always smiled and laughed when she was with her grandchildren; Kenny, Chris, Logan, Cole, Hannah, Rachel, Joshua, Jess, Wade, Luke, Deven, and Colton.Lindas life was a life of high peaks and low valleys. She just wanted to be cherished and needed, to love and to be loved. While she may have struggled to have that during her life, we know that she is now in the presence of God, who is love. Now in heaven, with the frailty of humanity shed, she can see clearly how much we love her, and mostly how much God has always cherished her, always wanted her, and always loved her.
Linda is survived by her mother, Millie, of Miles City, her sister, Joanne (Larry) Turner of Cambridge, NE, her daughters Connie (Keith) Bogner of Miles City, MT, Sheila (Walter) Rasmussen of Cape Girardeau, MO, her sons Cliff (Kathy) Grant of Stanwood, WA, and Elwin Grant of Broadus, MT.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elwin, and her infant brother.
