Lisa Marie Mimi Burns, Mahe na Kia (Medicine Bag Carrier Woman) was born May 21, 1984 at Crow Agency, Montana to the late Robbie Burns and Lynelle Speelman.

Lisa was given her name 3 months before she was born by her dad. Lisa attended all her years of school at St. Labre, graduating in 2002. While in school Lisa was active in the Indian club, Choir, Band, Drama Club, Speech, Year Book, also the Montana Teen Institute (MTI). Lisa also enjoyed playing tennis. She then took 1 year off to work at St. Labre before entering school at Chief Dull Knife College where she received her A.A. degree in 2006. While attending CDKMC was an active in American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), Lisa participated in AIHEC, American Indian Higher Education Consortium. She was employed at the Fire Side Video for two years before eagerly returning to work for St. Labre as a Donors Relations Clerk where she worked until her passing on February 20, 2009 in an automobile accident, with her friend and co-worker Hanna Medicinebull.

Mimi had a Bubbly personality, and was Blessed with the gift of being Lovable, just like her dad Robbie. Mimi was our Joy and comfort as the only Grandchild at the time of her Grandfather Irvins passing. Mimi enjoyed people especially children, Mimi was always smiling and willing to lend a hand whenever possible. Mimi loved to make crafts, braiding bracelets and other jewelry to give away. Mimi loved the shock value her Tattoos could bring. She also enjoyed playing cards with Grandma Carla, Lori, Justin, Kristi and whoever else wanted to lose some money. Mimi or Peanut as her Myspace Frens, knew her as, thank you 4 ru comments. Mimis Unconditional Love for frens and family with true acceptance for all, is her LegacyLisa

Preceeded in death by her father Robbie Burns Paternal Grandparents George Dempsy and Annie Burns, Maternal Grandfather Irvin Speelman, and Cousin; Melisa Curley.

Lisa is survived by her mother Lynelle Speelman (Wayne Tall Bull) sisters Tiffany Burns (Jimmy Tushka III) Shalane Burns (Bolind Hogan) Chandra, Alyssa Speelman. Brother Kyle Burns. Special nephew Kaydence, Other Parents Michael, Kristi SpeelmanAunts; Maya (Wayne) Wiede, Georgia Burns, Bonnie Burns (Wesley Spotted Elk), Lori (Gus) Spang, Marilyn Speelman Uncles; Gilbert (Tracy), Jeff, Robert Speelman, Ronnie (Bernadette), Jack (Terri), Jimmy (Sue Chen) ,JD (Charlene) Burns. Adopted uncles; John Salois, Bobby (Heidi) Albert, Leroy Not Afraid, Tim (Debbie) Dove, Brian (Edina) Red Star, Jay Nance Grandmothers; Nellie Speelman, Amy, Inez Foote, Carla Sorensen.

We want to apologize now as Lisa Marie Mimi Burns comes from a very large family to numerous to mention by name.
