Interment: will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City
Lloyd Mackin, age 90, of Miles City passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.
Lloyd was born on March 21, 1918 in Hebron, North Dakota, the son of Roy and Freda E. (Kunkel) Mackin. He attended Custer County District High School in Miles City. During the Depression he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC Camp). In 1936, he served a position at the Miles City Club. He managed the Club House at the Town and Country Club for 3 years. Lloyd married Francie A. Balducke on February 24, 1961 in Miles City. On November 1, 1961 he and Francie bought the Crossroads Inn and sold it in 1974. The Crossroads was a landmark of Miles City and still a legend. Many Miles City residents and tourists reminisce of the wonderful meals they had there. They then returned to the Miles City Club for 10 years and he retired in 1985 to play golf and he got two hole in one's.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Francie Mackin of Miles City, MT; a daughter, Sheri (Ray) Clauson of Miles City, MT; a sister, Agnes Sunell of Columbia Falls, MT; three grandchildren: Tami Rogers of Denver, CO; Kelly Clauson of Denver, CO; and Troy Clauson of Milton Keynes, England; three great grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob and Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Charles, and his siblings: Doris, Bill, Vern, Mildred, Larry, Rose, and Norman.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.
