Lois EdnaGregerson, age 62, of Jordan, Montana left this world on Monday, April 18, 2005 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Lois was born on November 11, 1942 in Jordan, Montana, the fifth of seven born to Lawrence and Sarah (Tubbs) Hellyer. She attended 1st through 3rd grade at Dilo School north of Sand Springs. The family then moved to Billings for the next several years, returning to the family ranch to finish her elementary schooling atDilo. Lois attended Garfield County High School in Jordan before returning to the ranch where she practiced her love of caring for animals. In 1964, she served an eighteen month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in Southern California. After completing a successful mission, she returned to Montana, where she met Keith Gregerson. They were married on November 8, 1967 at Pocatello, Idaho. To this union, two daughters were born,Keitha and Kyra. TheGregersons called Roundup home where they had a family business. During this time, Lois earned her GED which was a great accomplishment for her. During the last years of her life she spent time in Kansas and in Tacoma, WA, before returning to Garfield County where she was living at the time of her death.
Lois is survived by her husband, KeithGregerson of Roundup, MT; two daughters:Keitha Arthur and her husband Buddy of Herndon, KS;Kyra Gregerson of Boston, MA; three grandchildren: Dusti Kowalski of Roundup, MT; Tell Arthur and Joelle Arthur both of Herndon, KS. She is also survived by her mother, Sarah Hellyer of Jordan, MT; three sisters: Rhoda Phipps of Lakota, ND; Flossie Phipps and her husband Curtis of Brusett, MT; and Leora Mercer of Jordan, MT; two brothers: Larry Hellyer and his wife Ellen of Tacoma, WA; and Virgil Hellyer and his wife Carol of Jordan, MT; a sister-in-law, Neva King and her husband Randy of Miles City, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, a sister BettyHellyer, and three brothers-in-law: Frank Shorty Mercer, Dub Smotherman, and Jim Phillips.
