Virginia Kranzler, age 94, passed away on November 28, 2013 at the Prairie Community Nursing home in Terry, MT following a stroke.
Lois Virginia Kranzler was born June 4, 1919 in White Sulphur Springs, MT to John and Lois Aaboe. She was later joined by two brothers, Jack and Don.
The family lived in Havre, Helena and Bozeman where Virginia graduated in 1937 from Mt. Ellis Academy.
In the living room of her parent’s home, she married the love of her life, Richard Kranzler on May 28, 1939. They moved to Marsh in eastern Montana, and later, they established the family farm at Mildred.
Their son, Delwin, was born in 1940 and daughter Lois Ann was born in 1951.
Virginia was very active in her community. She was involved with Eastern Star and the Homemakers Club for many years. She had many hobbies, including making crafts, knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and entertaining.
Virginia was also an expert photo colorist, tinting beautiful photographs by hand long before ‘Photo Shop’ was ever invented! Her daughter, Lois inherited her artistry and continues it today in her own artwork.
After the death of her beloved husband in 1994, Virginia moved to Terry where she lived in her home until 2012. She then resided at the Prairie Community nursing care facility until passing away early Thanksgiving morning.
Virginia is survived by her son, Delwin Kranzler and his wife Joy of Brady, MT, and, by her daughter, Lois Bloom and husband Bill and their son Mitch of Ventura, CA.
She is survived by grandchildren, Kathy Holte and her husband Tim at their farm near Outlook, MT. Sherrie Massey and her children, Robert and Kayla of Alvin,Texas. Great and great grandchildren include Heather Hoenschell (Nick) and their daughter, Mallorie of Missouri City, Texas, Cody Nelson of Plentywood, and Nicoel Massey of Poteau, OK.
Virginia is also survived by Alice Kranzler of Plentywood, who was very dear to her. The family has been especially thankful and so grateful to Tim and Diane Ehman, Virginia’s nephew and wife whom helped care for and support her in so many ways in her later years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Community nursing care facility for their excellent care in the last one and a half years of her life.
Virginia’s husband Richard chose a beautiful place on the beloved family farm at Mildred, high on a hill, where he would go at times to reflect and contemplate and finally, rest in peace. Virginia will now rest there with him. In her own words, “Together in Life, and, in Death”.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2 pm at the family farm at Mildred. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the Kranzler farm at Mildred at service time. Following the service, a gathering of family and friends will be held at Virginia’s home in Terry beginning at 3:30 pm. Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Terry, MT have been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Prairie Community Hospital nursing home.

Prairie County has certainly lost one of its classiest ladies. Virginia was the consummate homemaker, and she did it with such style. (Martha Stewart had nothing over on Virginia Kranzler!) May the knowledge that Virginia lives on through her children and the good works that she did give you peace.

Your mother has always had a warm place in my heart. She was like a second mother to me. She taught me so much when I worked for her when I was growing up in Mildred. We always enjoyed visiting her when we went to Montana to visit my family. She never changed. She always had a beaming and welcoming smile. I will remember her always. Hang onto all the great memories.
