Lois Magpie, age 74, of Ashland passed away of natural causes at St. Vincent HealthCare in Billings on April 27, 2015.
Lois was born to Louie and Elaine (Readbreath) Magpie on June 2, 1945 in Ashland, MT. Throughout most of her life, Lois lived in Ashland. She also attended school there at the St. Labre School. After school she began working as a cook at the school, where she served the students and staff for many years. In the early 1960’s, Lois married Trinidad Quiroz, Sr. in Sheridan, Wyoming. Together Lois and Trinidad had 6 children. After some time they were divorced.
Lois enjoyed spending her time sewing and embroidering. She also had a love for reading, playing cards and hand games with her family. Over the years, Lois attended many Pow Wows. Above all other things, Lois loved raising her children & grandchildren, especially Louie Jr. and Eric Littlecalf.
Lois is survived by her children Louie Quiroz, Sr., Lavonne Quiroz, and Marlene Flyinghorse; her sisters Genieve Seminole; her Aunts Amy and Inez Foote and Nellie Speelman; her special nephew Gus Yellowhair; her special granddaughter Claudette (Shirley) Parker; numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her adopted sons Bobby Yellowfox and Gilbert Brady adopted daughters Easther LaRance, Nancy Fightingbear, and Elizabeth Medicinetop.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Elaine Magpie; Grandmother Julie (Yellownose) Redbreath; siblings Clarice Seminole Cox and Delbert Littlebird; husband Trinidad Quiroz, Sr.; her children Marlene Quiroz, Cliffos Quiroz, and Trinidad Quiroz Jr.
