Lola Beatrice Williams Schreiber, age 97, of Miles City passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 in Miles City.
Lola was born on December 15, 1917 in Miles City, Montana, the daughter of Art Williams and Ida May (Osmer) Williams. Lola was the fourth child. She attended, Washington, Garfield and graduated from Custer County High School in 1935. She worked part time at Montgomery Wards, JC Penney, Woolworth and Ragdales after graduating from High School. She worked at the Armours Creamery from 1938 to 1940 and was a rural mail carrier for many years.
Lola married Edward G. Schreiber on September 16, 1940. They were married for 62 years 9 months. Edward passed away 20 June, 2002 in Miles City, Montana. In 1959 they adopted a son Cody Leo Schreiber.
Lola is survived by her son Cody Leo Schreiber of California, a Granddaughter Mary and four Great Grandchildren. She is survived by nieces Joyce Swanson, WA; DeLana Cox, WA; Mary Anne Nettekoven (Wayne) WA; Jean Williams Johnson Bluhm, MT; and Susan Williams Leskovec (Tom) of MT and a nephew Don Hawkins (Sandie) of WA. Lola was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Gerald Williams 1964, two sisters: Vira Williams in 1918 and Ada Williams Hawkins in 1955, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 12:00-5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. As an infant on up I remember her and grandpa picking me up in their RV and we would travel, they took me to see the red woods in California and numerous other places. They were great people and will be missed dearly.
