Loren Mark Diede, age 12, of Gillette was taken unexpectedly and tragically on October 16, 2003 as the result of injuries in which he sustained from a car accident in Gillette last Tuesday.
Loren was born the beloved son of Mark and Irene (Leligdowicz) Diede on June 26, 1991 in Gillette, Wyoming, as a gift to his father whose birthday is the same. Mark helped deliver Loren, with Dr. Parker. As a toddler, Loren developed some beautiful traits that as he grew older became his lasting impression: his green eyes with his long dark eyelashes, a cowlick in his hair that would never stay down and his infectious smile. He loved chocolate milk, and his favorite snack being goldfish crackers. At this early age, he had the spark of an active imagination, which was something that never left him. He grew up making up stories and being quite expressive with much detail. He attended Pronghorn Elementary School from kindergarten on through the sixth grade. While attending Pronghorn, Loren played the tuba in the fifth and sixth grades. Graduating in 2003 from elementary school to continue to Sage Valley Jr. High, where he was currently enrolled in the seventh grade. Loren was a happy boy, always laughing and telling jokes he loved to make others laugh too. He would give of himself so many things, he would help his neighbors by shoveling snow off their sidewalks, taking their garbage out every week and walking the dog. This was just a glimpse of what a people person Loren was. He very much enjoyed playing games and cards with his family, riding his bike with his neighbor friends and cousins. Loren enjoyed so many facets in life, so many of them creating memories for his family and friends.
In the fall and winter, Loren would enjoy hunting and ice fishing with his dad, brother and friends. The most cherished memories being the family tradition of going to the Bighorns to go sledding and to get a fresh tree for Christmas. In the spring and summer roller blading, boating and fishing. Loren played baseball for the Gillette Southside Little League from kindergarten through sixth grade, games of kickball, paintball, riding the family four-wheeler. Independently Loren liked to play his Game Boy, video and computer games. He enjoyed reading, his favorite books being that of the Harry Potter series. However, when asked his favorite subject, his choice was math.
Loren will be sorely missed by his parents, Mark and Irene Diede; two sisters: Lori and Lisa; and one brother, Lee; Buddy the family collie and Jumper the cat all of Gillette, Wyoming; his maternal grandmother, Romualda Leligdowicz, paternal grandmother J.
