In Memory Of

Loren Kirby

Visitation: Sunday, December 21, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan.

Funeral Service: Monday, December 22, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan.

Graveside Service: Monday, December 22, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.

Loren Jack Kirby of Jordan MT passed away December 16, 2008 at the Garfield County Rest Home of natural causes with his family by his side.

Jack was born September 26, 1918 in Miles City. Jack grew up in Garfield County on his family ranch. He graduated from Garfield County High School in 1937. He went on to college in Spokane Washington earning a CPA degree.

He worked at Burbank, California for airplane parts and supplies and then moved back to Jordan and got his own ranch. He traveled a lot for his uncle selling propane and appliances. He raised Simmental cattle and dearly loved them, and also grew wheat on his family ranch. His cattle always received the best care, he always made sure that they were well fed at all times. He will best be remembered for his white hat and cigar in his mouth and always in his dually pickups. His daily stops at Ryans and the Pioneer Garage where he always kidded everyone. He loved to entertain family and friends and to dance.

Jack is survived by his wife Diana, stepdaughter, Karen Frost, stepson Dennis Mellville several grandchildren and great grandkids and a special friend Dolly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe & Dolly Kirby, his son Ronny Kirby, his son-in-law Mike Frost and stepson Kelly Mellville.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Jordan has been entrusted with the arrangements.

    didn’t know jack but did meet diana dennis’s mom and it was strange how when I lived with him he always said he HATED HIS MOM AS HE CAUGHT HER IN A CAR WITH JACK. True story. and why bring it up now is because he eventualley lived with her until he died.
