Lorena Olson, age 82, of Terry passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at her home in Terry.
Lorena was born on June 4, 1931 in Beulah, North Dakota, the daughter of Phillip and Emma (Schied) Morast. She attended grade schools at a country school north of Hazen, North Dakota. She then attended high school in Hazen. She later earned her GED. Following high school, she married Melvin Morast in October of 1949. To this marriage, two children were born, Wanda and Cory. They farmed and ranched for years north of Terry until Melvin passed away in 1980. She then moved to Terry where she worked at the hospital. She married Richard Olson in 1985. She continued to cook at the hospital until 1997 when she retired.
Lorena loved to crochet, embroidery, do crossword puzzles and she especially loved to read. She was a member of the Homemakers Club and the Presbyterian Women’s Auxiliary. She was a representative and church treasurer in Terry.
Lorena is survived by her husband Richard Olson of Terry, MT; son Cory Morast of Terry, MT; daughter Wanda (Doug) Bronson of Billings, MT; two sisters: Ida Giesinger of Bismarck, ND and Agnes (Leroy) Luft of Bozeman, MT; three grandsons: Ned (SooPing) Bronson, Brady Bronson and Nicholas (Kyrsten) Bronson; and two great granddaughters: Zoe and Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Melvin Morast, a brother Ray Morast and two sisters: Hulda Isaak and Erna Galster.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will follow in the Prairie County Cemetery. We were fortunate to have her and Dick as neighbors all those years across the street on Garfield Avenue.
