Louella M Russette, Eehe’e “Camps All over woman” departed this life on Nov, 28th 2013 in the arms of her children. She was born on May 5th 1952 to Joseph Firecrow and Elva Stands In Timber, she grew up on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation and attended school at St Labre and Busby. Our Mother was well known for her beautiful beadwork, her loving smile, her laughter and her courageous heart.
Louella was employed with Follow Through for the LDPS and St Labre, She was also employed with Cheyano Designs as a bead artist at this time she created some beautiful jackets, shirts, and other works of art. 2 of her jackets are owned by Randy Travis and Steven Segall. Her beadwork is known nationwide and she has work on the east coast as well as the west coast. Louella was also employed with the Northern Cheyenne Headstart program where she was employed for close to 20 years. She taught a lot of children and would tell fond stories of her days at Rainbow Center.
Louella was family oriented she loved being with her 2 special nieces Erica Timber and Denise Swank, Denise and Louella were more like sisters they were close and spent most of their time together before Denise moved to Oklahoma City, she also enjoyed the company of her sisters brothers and very special friends. The love of her life was her children, she dedicated her life to her 8 children and her 9 grandchildren, and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family. She was present at almost every one of her grandchildren’s births and even traveled to Washington State to see the birth of Lil’ Eehe’e Caleigh Jean Brown. She had a very special bond with her Granddaughter Lilliana Gracie who she affectionately called Anna Grace, these two would fight and argue and laugh and tease each other. Louella’s favorite past times were watching her soap operas, beading, visiting with her family and friends, listening to music, and watching the latest of movies.
Louella was proceeded in death by her son Omero James Firecrow, her sister Sheila Timentwa, her parents Joe Firecrow and Elva Stands In Timber, adopted mother Ella Walkslast TallBull who she had a special bond with, her grandparents John and Josie Onebear Stands In Timber, her nephew Michael Ortega and niece Natalie Rose Jones, as well as other loved family members who were close to heart.
Louella is survived by her children Melissa (Eldon) Brown, Phylliss (Mike) Firecrow-Hatten, Robert (Trina) Brien IV, Bruce Skyles Firecrow, Jon Firecrow, James Russette III, Calvin Russette. her sisters Josephine, Alvina, Marion and LaVonne Firecrow, Charlotte Whitecrane, Zippy Tallbull, Brenda Timber, Stella Ortega, Janelle Timber Jones, her brothers Joe Jr (JoAnn), Ronald, John, Ivan, Ira Firecrow, Eric Timber, Francis OldDwarf. her grandchildren Calvin, Caleigh, Caleb Brown, Johnathen Wolf, Lilliana Sandcrane, Storm, Tiri, Harlee Brien, and Realand Russell. Special friends Maxine Spang and Ike Standingalone, special nieces Erica Timber and Denise Swank. Her uncle Emmet Timber, numerous nieces and nephews who she loved and cared for very much. She is also survived by the Stands In Timbers, Glenmores, and OneBears.
Traditional Wake will be 7:00 PM on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish.
