He was born to John B. and Lydia R. Chiesa Capra on November 21, 1935, at the family home near Boyes, Montana. Jr attended Boyes Country Schools, and graduated from Broadus High School. His education continued on an athletic scholarship to Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT. He married his high school sweetheart, Penny Thex, on December 11, 1955. Together, they started their ranching career at the Thex family ranch on Otter Creek where they continued to live until the time of his death.
Jr is survived by his wife Penny of 56 years, one son, Brad Capra of Colorado Springs, CO, two daughters; Cindy (Tom) Marking of Porterfield, WI and Sandy (Thane) Thomas of Otter Creek, MT, three beautiful granddaughters Lindsay, Stacy, and Cori, and three great-granddaughters Autumn, Kassie, and Anna. He is also survived by one brother, Lawrence (Miriam) Capra of Boyes, MT, one sister, Angie (Norman) Bisgaard of Belle Fourche, SD, and many nieces and nephews. He is remembered for his love of family and community, his smile, sense of humor, and good natured teasing. Jr truly enjoyed branding with his neighbors and a good basketball game, whether it be playing or watching.

I am so sorry to hear about Juniors passing. I thought the world of him. I love his smile, his incredibly firm handshake, and just his overall attitude. He became a board member for Range about the same time I went to work at Range so I got to know him pretty well the past 24 years. He was a very good board member for the Cooperative and highly respected. He will be sincerely missed by the Range family. My sympathies and prayers go out to his family–he will be missed very, very much. Sincerely, Robin Stephens, GM

I am so sorry for your loss. I have also lost loved ones dear to me.Regardless of our faith we all need comfort when we lose a loved one. These are the thoughts that have helped me. Death is an enemy and I long for the day when it will be no more as we learn in the scripture at 1 Corinthians 15:26. Our Creator’s name is Jehovah (Psalms 83:18). He is the one whom has promised a resurrection for the deceased (Hebrew 6:18). He also promises to remove all pain, suffering, sickness and death from the human family (Revelations 21:3,4). The God of true comfort knows your pain and wants you to be comforted. The Bible provides truth and lasting comfort from Jehovah. May you have peace and be comforted through his words found in the Bible.
