Funeral services: will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.
Burial: will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at East Nordon Cemetery.
Dr. Lowell Doc A. Brown, age 79, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 while surrounded by his loving family at Holy Rosary Health Center.
Lowell was born on December 30, 1931 in Watertown, the son of George and Olga Brown. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1950. Lowell attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis from 1950 to 1953 and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1958 with an MD. He was married to Marie Torgerson on June 22, 1958. He interned at Wayne County Hospital in Detroit where they were blessed with two children Kristine and Erik. They later moved to Tyler, Minnesota where he worked as a GP. The family moved to Miles City in 1964 and they were blessed with another child Bruce.
He spent his entire career at the VA hospital as a surgeon in Miles City from 1964-1996. He was a devoted Doctor, healing and changing many lives. He had a love of nature and animals especially his sheep on the shores of Lake Shaokatan, Minnesota
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Olga and Sister Marie Ann and wife, Marie. He is survived by Kristine Carey of Bismarck and Colton Carey of Fargo, his grandson, Erik Brown, and Crystal Johnson of Bismarck, and Bruce and Anne of Toronto, his special caregiver, Angie King and close friend, Mary Moore.
He will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with family to receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Burial will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at East Nordon Cemetery. Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
