In Memory Of

Lyle Holum

Visitation: Thursday, December 14. 2006 starting at 4 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Poplar.

Funeral Services: Friday, December 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Poplar.

Interment: Poplar City Cemetery.

Lyle H. Holum, age 80, of Poplar, passed away December 11, 2006 at the Billings Clinic. Lyle was born July 22, 1926 to Clarence and Alma (Lien) Holum at the family farm in Flaxville.

Lyle went to school in Madoc until the 8th grade. In 1944 he joined the military service and was stationed in Japan (This was back when you only had to serve 2 years). When he returned, he worked for various farmers in the area. In 1953 he married Patsy Sullivan and together they had 3 children. Patsy passed away in 1978. In 1982 he married Betty Price.Lyle was a mechanic at several different garages, Percy Fredericks in Flaxville, Ford Garage in Wolf Point and Ford in Poplar before he opened his own garage. Lyle loved his work, Mechanic (McGuyver). He enjoyed spending time with the kids, 16 grandkids and 8 great grandkids, and visiting with company. He enjoyed farming and traveling with Betty, playing cards and his time in Reno with his brother Gil.

Lyle is survived by his wife of 24 years; Betty Holum of Poplar, children; Robert (Kathy) Holum of Gillette, WY, Judy Holum of Wolf Point, June (Nicky) Hagadone of Miles City, stepchildren; Susan (Ben) Zimmerman of Parker, CO, LaDonna Daruud of Poplar, Earline Martin of Williston, ND, Earl (Aggie) Price of Poplar, brothers; Clifford (Vi) Holum of Scobey, Gil (Mary) Holum of Spark, NV, sisters; Edna Begg of Kalispell, Edith Salvador of Plaserville, CA, and Erma (Pete) Becker of Ozark, MO, and brother in law; Robert Sully Sullivan of Wolf Point. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Patsy.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 14, 2006 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Poplar starting at 4 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, at 2 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Poplar. Interment will be held at the Poplar City Cemetery.
