In Memory Of

Lyle Prell

Visitation: Monday, November 17, 2003 from 11:00AM until 8:00 PM at the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth

Memorial Services: Tuesday, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth

Internment: will be held at a later date in the family lot in the Fort McPherson Cemetery in Nebraska

Lyle R. Prell, age 72 of Forsyth, passed away November 15, 2003 at his home due to an apparent heart attack.

Lyle was born on January 1, 1931, the son of Willis A. and Mabel P. (Zierlein) Prell in Tustin, California. He grew up and attended school in the Orange County area until moving with his family to Arnold, Nebraska where he graduated. Following his graduation, Lyle entered in the United States Navy in April of 1949 and reenlisted again in April of 1952. Lyle actively served his country until retiring from the Navy on December 7, 1953. After his honorable discharge, Lyle went to work in the oil fields in Wyoming. On September 23, 1965 he was united in marriage to Eleanor (Coates) Goedert in Sutherland, NE. Together, they made their home in Sutherland and later North Platte, NE where Lyle worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. Following his retirement, Lyle and Eleanor moved to Story, Wyoming and later to Forsyth, MT where he resided until the time of his death. Lyle was a member of several different bow-hunting associations throughout Nebraska, Colorado, Montana and Wyoming. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan, hunter and outdoorsman. Lyle also enjoyed his nights bowling with his friends. His passion though, was bow hunting. He especially enjoyed and loved his family and friends, and will be missed by all.

Lyle is survived by his wife Eleanor of Forsyth, four daughters Cynthia Kelly and her husband Mike of Sutherland, NE, DiAnn Kolkman and her husband Rick of North Platte, NE, Sally VanHemelryck and her husband Martin of Hysham, MT and Larren Frye and her husband Mike of North Platte, NE his son Casey Prell and his wife Marla of Miles City, MT and thirteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Willa Baisden and her husband Chuck of Savannah, Georgia, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.Lyle was preceded in death by his parents Willis and Mable.

A memorial service will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth. Visitation will be on Monday, November 17, 2003 from 11:00AM until 8:00 PM at the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth. Burial will be in the Ft McPherson Cemetery in Nebraska at a later date.Memorials can be made to the National Wild Turkey Foundation or the Nebraska Bow Hunters Association.Condolences to the Prell family can be sent to www.stevensonandsons.com.
